Design and optimize passive and active silicon photonic components from simulation through layout, foundry tapeout, and characterization. Perform electromagnetic and multiphysics simulations, analyze wafer-level measurement data, develop manufacturable designs, and collaborate with layout engineers, system-level PIC designers, and foundry partners. The role focuses on improving optical performance, fabrication tolerance, bandwidth, crosstalk, insertion loss, and power consumption for LiDAR and optical switching applications.

Develops silicon photonic integrated circuit layouts from floorplanning through tapeout. Responsibilities include dense waveguide routing, multilayer optical interconnects, PCell and layout library development, Python-based automation, photonic-electrical integration, physical verification, and collaboration with designers, packaging engineers, and foundry partners.

Architects and develops analog and mixed-signal electronics for compact LiDAR hardware, owning designs from concept through production. Responsibilities include schematic capture, component selection, PCB collaboration, signal and power integrity, EMI/EMC compliance, validation, characterization, and manufacturing optimization. Partners with systems, mechanical, and firmware teams to deliver reliable, high-performance products under tight power, cost, size, and schedule constraints.
