Lead the Consumer Payments product roadmap at Affirm, creating easier and more successful repayment experiences. Use customer research, data, and experimentation to improve conversion, payment success, safety, and cost efficiency. Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Analytics, Finance, Design, Partnerships, and senior leaders to identify opportunities, prioritize investments, define strategy, and guide products from discovery through launch and iteration.

Design and implement backend APIs, microservices, and checkout platform components for Affirm’s financial products. Own system health, improve performance and reliability, collaborate across engineering teams, and contribute to technical standards, tooling, and processes. The role requires developing, testing, and shipping high-quality software at scale while making customer-centric technical decisions.

Own the vision, roadmap, economics, and measurement of Affirm’s consumer loyalty program. Launch rewards, tiers, redemption, and engagement experiences while improving retention and repeat usage. Partner with Risk, Credit, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Marketing, engineering, and design to deliver compliant financial products. Build financial models, run incrementality experiments, measure LTV, and lead cross-functional teams through ambiguity.

Build and lead development of high-availability backend services for Affirm’s card loan platform. Design scalable APIs, data models, microservices, and event-driven systems supporting real-time loan attribution, approvals, origination, and refunds. Drive technical strategy, troubleshoot complex performance issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor engineers while ensuring long-term system robustness and scalability.

Own the strategy and roadmap for Affirm’s consumer credit experiences across shopping, repayment, and marketing. Lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Design, Analytics, Credit, Marketing, Commercial, and Legal to create intuitive, personalized financing journeys. Drive discovery, experimentation, funnel analysis, and measurable improvements in activation, conversion, repeat engagement, comprehension, and responsible access to credit.

Lead backend engineering strategy for Affirm’s search and recommendation platform. Design and launch highly available distributed systems, guide technical architecture and execution, improve team operations and reliability, establish engineering quality standards, collaborate with product, design, and analytics, and mentor engineers. The role focuses on search, recommendations, consumer shopping experiences, monetization, and scalable platform foundations.

Develop and scale backend streaming and data infrastructure using Kafka, Flink, AWS, Kubernetes, and related technologies. Break down projects, deliver tested software, collaborate with product and engineering teams, monitor system availability, participate in on-call support, debug code, conduct code reviews, and contribute to team development.

Own compliance advisory for the Affirm Card program across marketing, onboarding, payments, disputes, servicing, and new product features. Apply consumer finance regulations, review disclosures and UX, lead root-cause analysis and remediation, maintain risk assessments and controls, support regulatory exams and audits, and develop compliance training. Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, Risk, and senior leadership to make independent, risk-based decisions.

Administer the compliance testing program by conducting regulatory reviews, reporting findings, identifying control gaps, and coordinating remediation. Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Risk, Product, Engineering, Operations, and management. Support compliance risk assessments, control inventory, process improvements, and regulatory analysis for new or revised products and services.

Architect, build, and operate large-scale relational and distributed SQL database infrastructure. Responsibilities include database control-plane automation, provisioning, failover, backups, upgrades, zero-downtime migrations, Kubernetes networking, connection proxy optimization, reliability monitoring, capacity planning, and operational support. The role also leads technical delivery, mentors engineers, establishes quality standards, collaborates cross-functionally, and contributes to team roadmap and on-call operations.
