Leads the mechanical engineering domain for robotic recovery products, owning mechanical architecture, system integration, design, analysis, prototyping, validation, cost reduction, manufacturability, and production transfer. The role establishes CAD, FEA, tolerance, and design-review standards; partners with electrical, firmware, controls, suppliers, and contract manufacturers; mentors engineers; and supports technology roadmaps. Regular travel to the NYC office and supplier or manufacturing engagements, including international travel, is required as needed.

Own mechanical subsystems for a robotic platform from concept through production. Design, analyze, prototype, test, and validate systems using SolidWorks, FEA, kinematics, dynamics, and tolerance analysis. Partner with suppliers and contract manufacturers on DFM, fixtures, assembly processes, NPI, and production transfer. Troubleshoot manufacturing and field issues, drive root-cause resolution, and collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, firmware, controls, product, and operations teams.

Own procurement across multiple hardware programs, product lines, components, suppliers, and manufacturing partners. Responsibilities include purchase order management, supplier sourcing and onboarding, vendor relationship management, issue resolution, RFQs, cost negotiations, inventory and BOM cost tracking, and clear-to-build material readiness for new product introductions. The role collaborates with engineering, quality, finance, and product teams while supporting supply chain initiatives and developing demand-planning capabilities.
