Fuze launches new platform to improve the UC user experience

Fuze, a cloud-based video conferencing solution that connects people and organizations across devices, announced the unveiling of a new user interface this week that combines voice, video and messaging into a single application to give customers an improved user experience. LogMeIn's join.me announces integration program that allows users to start online meetings instantly

When you need to talk with a co-worker, it can be hard to decide where to reach them. Should you send them a message on Slack-chat or just shoot them a text or email? This week, LogMeIn introduced an integration partner program through join.me that lets users initiate online meetings instantly from within a multitude of popular business productivity applications, like Slack, Atlassian's HipChat, Trello, Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook and Office365. Now users can meet via voice or video, share their screen, and collaborate or schedule meetings without leaving their workflow, saving them  time and accelerating their productivity. Software company Progress gets new CEO

This week, Bedford-based Progress announced software veteran Yogesh Gupta as its new chief executive officer.  Phil Pead, Progress’ current CEO, will be retiring but will continue to serve on the Progress board of directors.  Pead has been CEO since December 2012 and has led Progress through its strategic transformation to becoming a global leader in application development. Prior to joining Progress, Gupta was president and chief executive officer of Kaseya, Inc., a leading IT management cloud software company, from 2013 until 2015. [BusinessWire]

 

FutureFuel launches online hiring marketplace

FutureFuel, a Boston-based startup hoping to make student loan payments a benefit offered by more employers, launched its online hiring marketplace this week. The company, founded by former Google exec and MIT Sloan alumna Laurel Taylor, was inspired by the growing student debt crisis and a desire to help businesses avoid issues like employee retention. FutureFuel will be teaming up with companies to help them differentiate themselves from other employers by offering five to 10 percent compensation in the form of student loan payments for three to five years. ArtLifting partners with Google to showcase formerly homeless artist’s work

ArtLifting, an online art gallery that supports artists facing homelessness and disabilities, is teaming up with Google to bring awareness to the art created by disadvantaged individuals in the community. Collaborating with Google’s Real Estate & Workplace Services (REWS) team, ArtLifting produced the inaugural exhibition of Art@Google in Cambridge this week, a program series featuring a formerly homeless artist’s work.  Google employees will have the opportunity to purchase the artworks through an internal auction.
