Position Summary

The Senior Training Program Specialist owns the operational backbone of the Commercial Education & Effectiveness (CEE) training calendar. The role plans and runs the logistics for approximately five new hire training classes per year, each built as a virtual week followed by a week-long in-person program, and partners with the corporate event planning team on the Global Commercial Meeting (GCM) and Summer Session. The Specialist schedules and confirms presenters, manages hotel and program logistics, prepares materials, administers the learning platform and the CEE SharePoint site, and maintains attendance, completion, and evaluation records.

This is a program and project management role. The Specialist is the single point of accountability for ensuring programs run on time, on budget, and without disruption to learning.

Core Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end logistics plan and timeline for approximately five new hire training classes per year, working backward from each class start date across both the virtual and in-person portions of the program.
  • Schedule and confirm presenters for virtual training sessions, including invitations, calendar management, content collection, quality review, and same-day support.
  • Manage hotel, venue, and participant travel logistics for week-long in-person programs, including room blocks, meeting space, audiovisual requirements, food and beverage coordination, and accessibility needs.
  • Partner with the corporate event planning team on the Global Commercial Meeting (GCM) and Summer Session, owning the Commercial Education & Effectiveness training workstream.
  • Serve as the onsite point of contact during training programs, managing materials, shipping, badges, signage, room setup, and agenda changes.
  • Track and reconcile program spend against budget, including vendor contracts, hotel invoices, purchase orders, and cost summaries.
  • Build and maintain the Commercial Education & Effectiveness SharePoint site, including document libraries, permissions, metadata, version control, and naming conventions.
  • Audit and retire sales training content on a scheduled basis and coordinate required internal reviews for clinical, marketing, and claims-related materials.
  • Administer the learning platform, including curricula, enrollments, assignment rules, reporting, and learner record migration activities.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, completion, assessment, and evaluation records and create post-program reports.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and other digital tools to organize, track, and report training activities.
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication within the commercial organization regarding training events, schedules, and updates.
  • Support onboarding for new sales and support team members by ensuring system access and training resources are available before day one.
  • Administer post-training surveys and 60- and 90-day follow-up assessments and summarize findings.
  • Prepare manager touchpoint materials, including pre-class briefing packets and post-class coaching guides.
  • Provide administrative support to the Commercial Education & Effectiveness team and perform other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience in program or project coordination, corporate meeting and event planning, training coordination, or a sales or support role.
  • Experience in a diagnostic laboratory, biotechnology, or regulated healthcare environment preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience coordinating multi-day, multi-presenter meetings or training programs, including registrations, room blocks, banquet event orders, and vendor invoicing.
  • Strong professional verbal and written communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Demonstrated SharePoint proficiency, including document libraries, permissions, metadata management, and version control.
  • Ability to effectively follow up with senior leaders and subject matter experts to secure commitments, presentations, and approvals on schedule.
  • Learning management system administration experience preferred.
  • Meeting or event planning certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work extended and irregular hours during training program weeks.
  • Location near the Fort Myers headquarters is preferred.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
