Our world is transforming, and PTC is leading the way. Our software brings the physical and digital worlds together, enabling companies to improve operations, create better products, and empower people in all aspects of their business.

Our people make all the difference in our success. Today, we are a global team of nearly 7,000 and our main objective is to create opportunities for our team members to explore, learn, and grow – all while seeing their ideas come to life and celebrating the differences that make us who we are and the work we do possible.

Onshape by PTC is a cloud-native CAD and PDM platform that runs on any device, anywhere, with no IT setup required. We’re looking for a highly motivated Social Media and Digital Community Strategist to shape how Onshape shows up across social media and online engineering communities.

This is an opportunity to help more engineers discover and engage with Onshape by creating content they find useful, joining conversations where we can add value, and building trust and credibility with technical audiences.

You’ll set the strategy and bring it to life. You’ll actively build and manage Onshape’s presence across LinkedIn, YouTube, Meta, Reddit, and X, while evaluating emerging channels, platforms, and communities. You’ll tailor content and engagement to each platform, actively participate in relevant conversations, and use audience insights and performance data to continually improve our approach.

Success in this role will include the ability to:

  • Develop and execute Onshape’s social and community strategy, including experimenting with new formats and platforms, measuring performance, and refining the approach to build brand presence, influence, and engagement across relevant audiences.
  • Engage with CAD, engineering, manufacturing, and product development communities. Participate in relevant conversations and build relationships with customers, industry experts, creators, and influencers.
  • Create and publish content for each channel, including customer stories, technical explainers, executive perspectives, video, and event coverage.
  • Build an employee and executive advocacy program that helps employees and technical experts develop their LinkedIn presence, share their expertise, and expand Onshape’s reach through authentic/credible voices.
  • Use Brandwatch and platform data to monitor conversations, competitors, and industry trends; translate those insights into recommendations for content, campaigns, webinars, and paid media.
  • Partner with SEO/GEO teams to improve Onshape’s visibility in organic search and AI-generated answers through social activity, expert voices, and third-party content.
  • Coordinate with support, product, creative, and paid media teams to respond to questions, share feedback, escalate sensitive issues, and develop social content.
  • Stay current on social platforms, community practices, and new technologies; apply what you learn to improve Onshape’s approach.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, plus the ability to explain complex CAD, engineering, and product development concepts clearly to technical audiences.
  • Strong understanding of social platforms and digital communities, including how to tailor content and community-building approaches to different audiences and platforms.
  • A self-motivated, creative, and proactive approach to working independently and with others.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple channels and priorities.
  • Sound judgment when using AI tools for research and content creation, with attention to accuracy, originality, and Onshape’s voice.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in B2B social media, digital communities, content, or related market influence roles.
  • Experience editing short-form video for social media, including adapting footage and adding captions for different platforms.
  • Experience engaging technical or engineering audiences; familiarity with CAD, manufacturing, or technical software is especially valuable.
  • Experience building relationships in online communities and developing employee or executive LinkedIn advocacy.
  • Experience with social listening, analytics, and publishing tools; Brandwatch or a comparable platform is a plus.
