Torch Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer 

providing support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center/PEO Electronic Systems Directorate (AFLCMC/ES) at Hanscom AFB, MA. The Air Force Program Execution Office for PEO Electronic Systems (AFPEO/ES) has the collective AFMC mission responsibility to manage and execute the modernization, development, testing, production, fielding, and sustainment of the PEO Electronic Systems portfolio, which includes over 130 programs for the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and foreign allies. AFLCMC/ES is headquartered at Hanscom AFB, MA, with geographically separated operating units CONUS and OCONUS. This position is with AFLCMC/ESA and will provide systems engineering support across the acquisition lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, test, operation, sustainment, and system disposal.

As a Senior Systems Engineer your duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle.

  • Apply your technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.

  • Provide systems, electrical, and/or mechanical engineering support for new and legacy DoD systems

  • Accomplish and coordinate engineering tasks for modifications and systems upgrades

  • Provide support to customers including data analysis, modification programs, repair requirements, reliability/maintainability actions, and worldwide user support

  • Assist in designing, planning, execution, analysis, reporting, and documentation during any phase of test and evaluation programs, including applicable FAA certifications and procedures

  • Provide engineering review of programs throughout the life-cycle

  • Review and ensure all engineering-related documents are accurate and complete

  • Participate in the development of system specifications and system architecture products

  • Participate in test and evaluation support, including planning, test conduct, and evaluation of results against operational requirements

  • Assist in scheduling and securing required test resources in support of project and program office objectives

  • Provide technical evaluation of contractor proposals

  • Monitor, assess, and report on test and evaluation efforts; provide recommendations for test facility improvements

  • Support development of system and program technical plans, including review of technical documents, participation in working groups, tracking risks/issues, and reviewing test plans, procedures, and data

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Bachelor's degree and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed with at least 5 years supporting the DoW OR

  • 15 years of directly related experience, eight of which must be in the DoW 

  • Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA)

  • Systems Architecture Development

  • System Modeling (SysML, Cameo, Rhapsody)

  • Interface Control Documentation (ICDs)

  • Requirements Development & Management

  • Communications & Networking Systems

  • Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS)

  • Radar & Surveillance Systems Integration

  • Request for Information (RFI) / Request for Proposal (RFP) Development

  • Statement of Work (SOW) Development

  • Source Selection & Vendor Evaluation

  • Microsoft Office 365 & SharePoint

  • SolidWorks

  • Strong collaboration within cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to build relationships with government, military, and contractor stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Problem-solving and sound decision-making abilities

  • Effective technical communication with both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving program environment

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to facilitate requirements discussions and coordinate across functional teams

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy

  • Must have and be able to maintain a Secret level clearance.

Salary Range $135,000 - $150,000

The salary range information is a general guideline only.  Several factors can influence the salary for a position including but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, geographic location, business considerations, scope and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications.
