Are you an experienced senior project manager who can lead M&A projects as well as other large, complex projects?  Do you thrive in environments with many moving pieces, competing priorities, and high visibility? Do you enjoy leading cross-functional initiatives, building trust with stakeholders, and helping teams navigate ambiguity to deliver outstanding results?

If so, we’d love to hear from you!

Grant Street Group is an innovative and rapidly growing software company that supports government agencies and financial institutions through specialized SaaS solutions focused on tax collection, electronic payments, and more. Our work is meaningful, complex, and highly collaborative — and we are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead large, high-impact implementation programs across multiple clients and teams. The project portfolio may include mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and integrations, as well as other major business initiatives. M&A work is anticipated, though it may not begin immediately; this role will lead other strategic projects as business priorities require.

This is not a coordination-only role. We are seeking someone who can independently lead complex initiatives from planning to execution, drive M&A-related work forward, manage risk proactively, align stakeholders, and adapt to shifting priorities.

What You'll Do

  • Lead project management for mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, integrations, and other major cross-functional projects from early planning through successful execution

  • Build and manage detailed project plans, timelines, workstreams, milestones, and decision logs across multiple concurrent initiatives

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across finance, legal, HR, product, engineering, operations, security, leadership, and external partners

  • Support due diligence efforts by organizing data requests, tracking open items, coordinating stakeholders, and maintaining momentum across workstreams

  • Help drive integration planning and execution, including readiness activities, dependency management, and post-close follow-through

  • Identify risks, dependencies, blockers, and decision points early and proactively drive resolution strategies

  • Facilitate executive-level communication, status reporting, governance meetings, and stakeholder alignment

  • Manage competing priorities across multiple workstreams while maintaining visibility into overall project health

  • Drive accountability across teams while fostering collaboration, trust, and clarity

  • Help improve internal M&A processes, integration playbooks, and operational best practices

  • Support teams through changing priorities and evolving business needs with a calm, solutions-oriented approach

  • Travel up to 35% as needed based on project requirements

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will bring strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills along with experience managing large-scale, cross-functional initiatives related to mergers and acquisitions, integrations, enterprise transformation, or similarly complex business operations.

    Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of project/program management experience in M&A, corporate development, consulting, financial services, enterprise technology, operations, or similarly complex environments

  • Prior experience leading an M&A project

  • Experience leading or supporting merger, acquisition, integration, or other high-visibility cross-functional initiatives

  • Ability to operate independently in fast-moving environments with evolving priorities

  • Excel at building alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex topics clearly and simply to executives, teams, and external partners

  • Sound judgment and discretion when managing sensitive or confidential initiatives

  • Experience managing projects involving multiple systems, functions, vendors, and cross-functional dependencies

  • A highly organized, flexible and pragmatic approach, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution

  • Proactive problem solver who anticipates issues before they become roadblocks

  • Experience recovering or stabilizing challenged projects/programs or navigating ambiguity during periods of organizational change

  • Preferred Experience
  • Experience with due diligence coordination, integration planning, and post-close execution

  • Experience with change management, process improvement, or operational integration efforts

  • Experience in SaaS, software, financial services, or other regulated industries

  • Experience managing distributed or remote teams

  • PMP or related project management certifications are welcome but not required

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
