Director Corporate Development
The role is broadly cross-functional and will manage relationships and projects that span Product Development, Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Finance, IT, Technology Alliances, People, Legal, Sales, and more. This role will report directly to the SVP of Corporate Development.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Advancement
Work with product and go-to-market teams to develop M&A priorities based on corporate strategy, product vision / objectives and roadmap
Identify, scope and lead explorations of market sectors that align to Rapid7’s strategic objectives
Advise on and assist in development of Rapid7’s corporate strategy in conjunction with senior management and other company stakeholders, especially with regards to identifying how strategy can be accelerated through acquisitions.
Develop and maintain a broad network of industry contacts, venture capital investors and financial advisors to assist in understanding market and industry trends and building transaction opportunities
Shape the processes/practices and tools of the Corporate Development team
Work with internal integration resources and teams to help improve Rapid7’s readiness to diligence, execute and integrate acquisitions.
Execution
Lead M&A transaction processes including financial analysis, valuation and transaction structuring, diligence, and executive and board presentations
Drive and manage cross functional teams across the organization necessary to diligence and complete deal execution and integration planning
Define and coordinate the development of integration plans and assist with post-closing integration execution
Requirements:
You have a BA or BS undergraduate degree. MBA preferred
You have 10+ years relevant work experience, either directly in corporate development, in investment management fields or operational roles in either product management or financial planning.
Cybersecurity domain experience is preferred as is experience in SaaS companies.
You have experience and skills in strategic and financial analysis, project management, and communication. You are able to interact in a manner that gains trust, and negotiate mutually beneficial business objectives with potential targets and within the organization
You enjoy and have been told that you are good at writing, across both memos and slides
You thrive on working on multiple projects at once, and seek out cross-functional engagement
You take initiative when you see work that needs to be done, and you don’t expect active management. You are accountable for and ownership of your work
Willingness to travel (if and when that becomes possible again)
