Project Coordinator

Catalent’s Chelsea, Massachusetts site—often referred to as the Boston location—is a global Center of Excellence for spray dry dispersion (SDD) and dry powder inhaler (DPI) capsule manufacturing and packaging, supporting inhalation drug products from clinical development through commercial launch. Located at 190 Everett Avenue, the approximately 96,000‑square‑foot GMP facility features ISO 8 production suites, high‑potency containment capabilities, and advanced spray drying equipment, including multiple large‑scale GMP spray dryers. The site offers integrated services such as powder processing, capsule filling, blister packaging, and on‑site quality control and analytical testing, with capacity to produce up to 100 million capsules annually. Strategically positioned just minutes from Boston Logan International Airport and within the Greater Boston life sciences hub, the Chelsea site plays a critical role in Catalent’s global inhalation network and regulatory‑compliant manufacturing operations.

Position Summary

The Project Management function is responsible for managing the non-technical aspects of projects at Catalent Boston which include customer projects for the development and manufacturing of inhalation products and oral spray dried powders.  This includes ensuring on time and on budget delivery of projects and acting as a focal point between customers and our technical team by using project management methodologies and corporate PMO procedures.

This position assists Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, and Project Management leadership in managing activities for a portfolio of projects by supporting project teams and coordinating project-related activities. This position typically provides internal coordination of project-related activities and involves managing the execution of the customer’s requirements as per an agreed upon program of activities.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
Location: Chelsea, MA
100% Onsite

The Role

  • Develop, coordinate, and track client and internal projects through the entire project life cycle, including routing communications, meeting follow-ups, and distribution of materials under Project Manager oversight
  • Coordinate daily project activities and attend daily stand-up board reviews on behalf of the Project Management team; Update the team on project status and issues that may affect outcomes
  • Prepare meeting minutes, agendas, and coordinate customer visits; Host client visits under supervision of Project Management leadership
  • Assist in setting project plans, updating task status, and progressing invoicing and forecast realization in Adobe Workfront to maintain accurate metrics
  • Support project logistics such as scheduling meetings, reserving conference rooms, taking minutes, and tracking action items to ensure timely closure; Prepare project status summaries, reports, and presentations as needed
  • Assist in gathering and coordinating technical information to support quotations, project acceptance, technical package distribution, and logistical planning
  • Coordinate lower-complexity projects or workstreams as assigned, under Project Management oversight; Identify and communicate potential risks, timeline concerns, or resource constraints to the assigned Project Manager or leadership
  • All other duties as assigned

The Candidate

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required; preferably in a life sciences discipline
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project
  • Position requires frequent sitting, occasional walking, standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and lifting up to 10 lbs. as needed

Preferred Skills & Background

  • Previous pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean, or Operational Excellence principles is preferred
  • Familiarity with GMP, pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, quality, or regulatory environments is preferred
  • Previous experience using Adobe Workfront is preferred

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this position in MA is $75,000 – $90,000 Plus Bonus. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Catalent is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
