The Senior Events Specialist plays a key role in the success of Rapid7’s Event Marketing team. We plan more than 100 events per year – from small regional user groups; to major customer conferences and tradeshows; to internal holiday parties. You will work closely with the entire marketing, sales, customer success, and sales engineering teams as you build your career with one of the fastest growing companies out there.
As the Senior Events Specialist at Rapid7 you will handle projects from idea to execution. You should be confident in managing a trade show booth and feel comfortable with all aspects of the event lifecycle. In this role you will:
Independently plan and manage Rapid7’s presence at field events including working with sponsors to confirm event details, ship marketing collateral, and train the sales staff we send to work the show floor to best represent our brand and create the most impactful experiences for attendees.
Partner with our marketing demand generation team to build event registration pages, drive event attendance, and manage event attendee lists to ensure targeted quality engagement with intended audiences.
Pass event leads to the marketing operations organization and track individual event ROI to ensure we’re getting the most out of our events and inform future investments.
Own the team’s vendor relationships and act as the main point of contact between event marketing, legal and finance through the negotiation of new vendor contracts and the creation of purchase orders, invoice and expense report processing.
Support the management of the event team budget and track individual event budgets.
Manage events giveaway inventory by tracking and reordering branded swag as needed.
5-7 years of experience in an events management/operations role, preferably in B2B.
Highly organized with experience managing event booths at trade shows.
Ability to travel to events as needed.
Team player who is passionate about working in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.
High level of comfort presenting information to others, including senior management.
Exceptional project management skills and ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at once.
Comfortable with google sheets and pivot tables to track multiple budgets and analyze event spend and activity.
Comfortable using marketing automation tools and desire to learn new technologies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Self-starter who is resourceful and can complete projects with minimal supervision.
Creative thinker, passionate about events and brand experience.
Security industry experience and knowledge of the Saas technology landscape is preferred but not required.
