We are looking for a Patient Care Coordinator in our Las Vegas, NV Office. A Patient Care Coordinator works cooperatively with all members of the care team and supports the vision of the Positive Patient Experience (PPE), answers phones, responds appropriately and routes calls as needed, responds appropriately and timely to patients request regarding appointments or exams, reviews referrals/orders for appropriateness and scan, create, protocol, tasking, and scheduling. Schedule appointments telephonically, inbound, and outbound, schedules appointments according to scheduling guidelines, policy and procedures, department productivity and quality standards and resolve routine to moderately complex issues, refers to supervisor when appropriate.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm PST.
Location: 2300 West Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, NV.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Greet all external and internal customers in a courteous manner
  • Check in patients, collect insurance information and patient paperwork as needed
  • Confirming patient eligibility and benefits
  • Make, verify and schedule appointments, including updating demographics
  • Collect patient co-pays and co-insurance amounts due. Reconcile daily collections
  • Assist with incoming calls, logging into call queue
  • Check out duties including scheduling return visits, scheduling an obtaining authorization for outpatient special procedures/appointments, initiate referrals to outgoing specialists
  • Accessing and utilizing third party portals for referrals, authorization, Prescription Monitoring Program, HIE, etc.
  • Daily completion of tasks and email communications
  • Scan and attach patient medical records and documents
  • Assists co-workers and team members with duties when requested or assigned, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in a healthcare environment setting
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing process-related tools such as electronic referral and medical record systems
  • Understanding of insurance programs and basic managed care principals including clear understanding of referral process
  • Understanding of diagnosis coding (ICD10) as it relates to referral requirements

Soft Skills:
  • Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Windows and non-Windows based applications including Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Competent in the use of phone system
  • Proven ability to resolve patient issues and problems in a positive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with physicians, patients and other healthcare staff members
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proven successful achievement of performance objectives
  • Demonstrated good organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Demonstrated good communications skills
  • Demonstrated consistent standard work compliance audits of 90% or higher for all assigned work

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $18.00 to $32.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
