What's the Work-Life Balance Like at MetLife?

MetLife Employee Reviews

My colleagues have celebrated both my work and wedding anniversaries, which I have always appreciated. We’re there for each other to balance work and life and deliver on our promises to our customers as one team. MetLife is a special place in that way. We have this saying here that it’s All Together Possible. I see and feel that every day.

I really enjoy that I can do my job, which I adore, in a flexible working environment, and still feel very connected to my leader and team. I imagine it can be hard to find that balance when teams work from home, but MetLife’s GCSO team is doing it right. We are constantly learning from one another, receive ongoing training to keep our skills and knowledge sharp, and are encouraged to just simply be ourselves.

What People Are Saying About MetLife

  • Remote or Hybrid Flexibility: A hybrid-by-default model with three in-office days, two days of employee choice, and 10 additional virtual flex days expands where work happens, with some roles fully virtual. This structure reduces commuting friction and offers practical location control within role requirements.
  • Time Off Access: U.S. programs include generous PTO, floating/volunteer days, and up to 10 weeks of paid parental leave for eligible employees. These policies make it easier to step away for caregiving and recovery without eroding balance.
  • Wellbeing Programs: Resources such as an Employee Assistance Program, mental health supports, and caregiver services are emphasized across company materials. These offerings aim to buffer stress and support day-to-day wellbeing.
