Boston’s tech industry is a scene on the rise. Between ambitious hiring goals, collaborative people-first cultures and exciting tech news, the city has plenty going on.

In 2021, Boston was ranked in fifth place by Startup Genome’s Global Startup Ecosystem Report, a study that looks at 280 ecosystems and 3 million startups around the world using quantitative and qualitative assessments. Scored on a range of different factors, the Boston area received particularly high recognition for its overall startup performance, funding, connectedness, market reach and talent.

This month, Built In is highlighting four industry leaders across Boston who are making waves with their big growth plans and groundbreaking technology. The best part? They’re all hiring!

What they do: Skillsoft is an edtech platform focused on corporate learning through training courses, books and videos across a wide range of topics. With 7,000 Fortune 1000 companies utilizing the organization’s tools in some capacity, Skillsoft offers digital solutions in the areas of tech and development, leadership and business, compliance and talent management.

Focused on diversity: In September, Built In sat down with Skillsoft General Manager Rashim Mogha to discuss the company’s vision for DEI. “I want to treat our diversity and inclusion initiative not as a program that sits on one side of an organization, but as something that is mainstream in everything that we do,” she said. “Diversity is not about what experts tell us, it’s about real stories and how people feel.”

In the news: In March, Skillsoft announced that it received Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) authorization for its next generation learning platform, Skillsoft Percipio. This means that Percipio will be added to the federal government’s online portal of approved cloud service offerings and benefit from FedRAMP’s comprehensive security authorization.
