SimpliSafe got $130MThe provider of tech-enabled home security devices has grown significantly as it anticipates earning over $400 million in annual recurring revenue this year. Now with a total of $187 million in venture funding to date, SimpliSafe plans to add 100 new members to its Boston team in engineering roles for hardware, firmware, software and e-commerce. Vicarious Surgical is going publicThe robot-assisted surgery company announced it will trade on the NYSE under the symbol RBOT after merging with D8 Holdings, a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC). The company is backed by Bill Gates and the $1.1 billion deal is expected to add more than $425 million in fresh investment to its coffers. [MassDevice]

Legacy launched to simplify male fertilityThe new Boston startup launched with $10 million in Series A funding to invest in its digital fertility clinic for men. By offering a range of services beyond those of the average fertility clinic, Legacy aims to make the process of depositing, storing and freezing sperm easy and convenient. HqO pulled in $60MInsight Partners and other investors contributed to the startup’s Series C round. HqO provides landlords with tech that helps them better communicate with their tenants for a variety of reasons. Having tripled its revenue and doubled its headcount within the past year, the company is pursuing even more growth and plans to invest the funding in scaling its business. [Built In Boston]

Cohere Health raised $36MAiming to transform the digital health space with its AI-powered platform, Cohere Health works to streamline the digital authorization process. With its Series B funding, the company wants to add a new functionality to its product to help physicians provide patients with digital point-of-care options. Polaris Partners led the round. Ernst & Young launched its NCoE program in BostonWith a focus on diversity and inclusion, the accounting and consulting firm announced the launch of its Neuro-Diverse Center of Excellence, a hiring program targeting the recruitment of individuals with diverse cognitive traits like dyslexia, ADHD and autism, in its Boston office. Mori secured $16MUsing salt, water and heat, this foodtech company has engineered a way to convert silk into a sustainable protective layer that can be applied to the surfaces of foods, as Built In reported last July. Bullhorn updated its executive teamThis software provider for staffing and recruitment businesses announced two new additions to its C-suite. Bullhorn appointed Matt Fischer as COO in addition to his existing role as company president. It also brought on David Whitley to be CTO.
