Workday Systems Analyst – Finance

Responsibilities:

• Support Workday Financials and related finance applications, including financial management, procurement, reporting, and connected business processes.

• Partner with Finance stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business needs, requirements, and functional specifications.

• Evaluate current processes and workflows, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and recommend improvements that support Finance priorities.

• Configure and maintain Workday business processes, security-related requirements, reports, calculated fields, and other functional components within the role’s scope.

• Support integrations and data flows between Workday and adjacent finance applications; coordinate with technical teams when issues require deeper integration or engineering support.

• Provide day-to-day production support, troubleshoot system issues, communicate resolutions, and escalate risks or defects appropriately.

• Create, maintain, and improve scheduled and ad hoc reports using appropriate Workday reporting tools.

• Partner with Finance and Technology Services teams to validate data accuracy, investigate reporting discrepancies, and improve data visibility.

• Develop test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria; execute or coordinate testing for configuration changes, integrations, reports, and system releases.

• Support project planning and delivery for Finance systems initiatives, including requirements, process design, testing, documentation, and implementation activities.

• Stay current on Workday releases, product capabilities, and relevant finance systems practices; identify opportunities to use new functionality to improve business processes.

• Create and maintain functional documentation, procedures, job aids, and support materials.

• Build effective working relationships with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, FP&A, and other cross-functional partners.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting Finance organizations, Finance systems, business applications, or a related area.

• At least 3-4 years of hands-on experience with Workday Financials or comparable ERP finance modules.

• Working knowledge of Finance processes, procedures, and policies, with the ability to translate business requirements into system solutions.

• Experience with requirements gathering, process analysis, gap analysis, functional design, system configuration, testing, reporting, and documentation.

• Experience troubleshooting system issues and communicating clear, actionable resolutions to business stakeholders.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and customer-service skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate discussions with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt effectively to change.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Workday procurement, expenses, accounting, reporting, or related Finance functionality.

• Experience supporting integrations or data flows between Workday and adjacent finance applications.

• Experience with Workday reporting, business processes, calculated fields, and data validation.

• Experience working in a healthcare, technology, or other complex operating environment.

• Experience supporting enterprise software releases, implementations, or continuous improvement initiatives.
