The Role:  

As the Vice President, Life Sciences Business Development, you will be responsible for accelerating Cart.com's growth in the healthcare and life sciences vertical. You’ll own and execute the go-to-market strategy for expanding our fulfillment and supply chain services to pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, and medical device companies.

We are looking for an experienced government business development executive to spearhead outreach and deal management, from RFP through close, to the U.S. federal government and potential industry partners.  In this role, you will leverage your experience engaging federal agencies, your knowledge of the Executive Branch, and your existing network to drive awareness of Cart.com, position the company as a differentiated provider of inventory management services and software, and shape and pursue federal contracts.

Because Cart.com’s capabilities enable it to support a broad range of inventory, this role will have an inter-departmental focus, with an emphasis on the Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, and Department of Homeland Security. The ideal candidate will have deep experience engaging one or more of these departments, with exposure to or knowledge of the others.

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing strategic opportunities in the life sciences sector
  • Build strong executive relationships with enterprise healthcare and life sciences companies
  • Own the end-to-end sales cycle for high-value clients, including proposals, presentations, and negotiations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Solutions, Operations, Legal, and Marketing to develop tailored commercial offerings
  • Act as a market evangelist, representing Cart.com at industry events, conferences, and in thought leadership efforts
  • Identify new product and service opportunities to expand our value proposition to healthcare brands
  • Create strategic alliances with ecosystem partners (e.g., CDMOs, CROs, platforms, consultants)
  • Lead pipeline forecasting, deal strategy, and reporting for the vertical

Who You Are:

  • You are a commercial leader with deep domain knowledge in life sciences and healthcare logistics
  • You are passionate about solving supply chain problems for pharmaceutical and medtech clients
  • You are a persuasive communicator and effective executive presence with strong negotiation skills
  • You’re a builder — of relationships, solutions, partnerships, and revenue streams

What You’ve Done:

  • 15+ years of experience in business development, strategic sales, or partnerships in life sciences, healthcare logistics, or a related field
  • Demonstrated success closing large, multi-year contracts with enterprise healthcare clients
  • A strong network of industry contacts and a proven ability to navigate complex buying cycles
  • Experience selling fulfillment, third-party logistics (3PL), or supply chain services into regulated environment

Nice to Haves: 

  • Prior experience with or selling into companies like McKesson, Cardinal Health, Cencora, AmerisourceBergen, or similar
  • Understanding of industry-specific logistics needs such as cold chain, controlled substances, or clinical trial fulfillment
  • Experience bringing new service lines or vertical strategies to market
  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline
