About the Opportunity
Job Summary
The Three Seas Program Field Operations Specialist is primarily responsible for the operation of the Three Seas Program while the program is traveling abroad. Working under the direct supervision of the Three Seas Program Manager, the Field Operations Specialist will accompany Three Seas students during travel and study in domestic (Washington State) and foreign field sites that include Central America and/or the Caribbean or other tropical locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
The individual will be responsible for overseeing student, faculty, and staff safety, coordinating travel logistics, and supporting course preparation and field activities at program locations. Daily responsibilities will fluctuate with course logistics, staff travel schedules, and programmatic changes. During non-travel periods, the individual will be based at the Marine Science Center in Nahant and will work on program support as needed.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology or similar field required; completion of Three Seas Program is highly desired
· One cumulative full year field research experience in a marine environment highly preferred
· Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, strong commitment to safety best practices
· Willingness to participate in ongoing safety training and development programming. Demonstrable ability to learn and apply new safety procedures and regulations
· AAUS Scientific diving certification required; DiveMaster certificate needed by start date
· First Aid, Emergency Oxygen, CPR and AED training, and Wilderness First Aid training required; the Three Seas program will invest in training individual who possess a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and a desire to learn and grow in this field for them to meet all regulations and policies for safe dives
· Ability to spend significant time abroad is required, as this position will be abroad for the majority of time from September through May
· Proficiency in spoken Spanish a plus

$47,891.00 - $65,849.00With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
