The Systems Engineer will be the primary engineer for our managed services customers. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to reactive Help Desk support tickets for desktop, server, and networking issues, performing Networking Administration tasks both remotely and on-site at the customer, and serving as the primary technical point of contact for the user base at our customers.

Job Description: 

System Engineer

Responsibilities: The Systems Engineer will be responsible for technical support and IT services at existing and new customers.  The Systems Engineer will be the primary engineer for our managed services customers. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to reactive Help Desk support tickets for desktop, server, and networking issues, performing Networking Administration tasks both remotely and on-site at the customer, and serving as the primary technical point of contact for the user base at our customers.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft server and desktop operating systems.
  • Experience managing and administering Microsoft Windows enterprise application servers, including:
    • Office 365
    • Active Directory
    • back-office enterprise systems
  • Cloud computing knowledge
  • Azure and AWS experience
  • Security management of systems
  • Experience with EDR and MDR
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services).
  • Experience with:
    • Remote VPN and firewall technologies (e.g., Cisco, SonicWALL, Fortinet).
    • Security and backup/disaster recovery (DR) management tools such as:
  • Good knowledge about Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP..)
  • VMWare and Hyper-V experience
  • Experience with Managed Services or a Managed Service Provider (MSP).

Preferred Skills and Certifications: 

  • Vendor certification and knowledge of at least one network operating system (LAN and WAN) and Microsoft enterprise systems.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the IT field.
  • Certification on network connectivity devices (Firewalls, Switches, AP..)
  • Prior consulting or managed services experience.
  • Familiarity with ConnectWise or N-Able / Kaseya is a plus.
