T-Mobile is synonymous with innovation–and you could be part of the team that disrupted an entire industry! We reinvented customer service, brought real 5G to the nation, and now we’re shaping the future of technology in wireless and beyond. Our work is as exciting as it is rewarding, so consider the career opportunity below as your invitation to grow with us, make big things happen with us, above all, #BEYOU with us. Together, we won’t stop!

Get hands-on experience, training—and a leg up on a bright future.

T-Mobile didn’t become a leader by following the playbook. We got here by breaking it. We’re a disruptor that now plays on a higher tier, and we’re still raising the bar for millions of customers nationwide. If you want to work somewhere that sets the standard instead of matching it, this is your place.
This is an 11-week paid learning experience where you’ll do real work, not busywork. You’ll build relationships with other interns and leaders across the company, and you’ll be paired with mentors who will challenge you to grow skills that matter. We’ll give you hands-on projects with real stakes, and we expect your creativity and sharp ideas to make an immediate impact. You’ll work alongside T-Mobile employees who have your back and who still believe the best ideas can come from anyone.

What It’s Like

You’ll join the Product Design team at T-Mobile Advertising Solutions (T-Ads). We design the enterprise software behind one of the world’s largest digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising marketplaces. The team is small enough that your work gets seen and big enough that it matters. A typical week mixes focused design time in Figma, check-ins with your mentor, working sessions with Product Managers and Engineers, and time with users to test ideas. You’ll get guidance from experienced Product Designers, and you’ll be trusted to own your project.

What You’ll Do

You’ll own a meaningful product design project from discovery through solution development. Depending on priorities, it could span our advertising platforms, internal tools, or device monitoring experiences. You’ll simplify complex workflows for advertisers, media owners, and internal teams who plan, buy, manage, and optimize digital advertising at scale. Your work will help T-Mobile stay ahead by making powerful tools intuitive and consistent. You may also contribute to our evolving design system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own a defined UX design project from discovery through solution development, with mentorship from experienced designers
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to uncover user needs, evaluate concepts, and inform design decisions
  • Create user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes in Figma to explore and communicate solutions
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers to understand requirements, present design decisions, and iterate on feedback
  • Contribute to the design system through UI patterns, reusable components, and documentation that keep experiences consistent across products

What It Takes

  • Foundational understanding of user-centered design, interaction design, and the UX process
  • Experience with Figma or similar tools to build wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes
  • Familiarity with user research methods and usability testing, and with turning feedback into better designs
  • Strong visual design sensibility and attention to detail
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • The curiosity to challenge assumptions, the initiative to work independently, and the openness to adapt to feedback
  • A portfolio or work samples that show your process: the problem, your individual contribution, your exploration and iteration, the reasoning behind your decisions, and what you learned. Academic and personal projects are welcome.

Preferred:

  • Experience designing complex workflows, dashboards, or data-rich applications
  • Familiarity with design systems, reusable components, and UI pattern libraries
  • Understanding of accessibility (WCAG basics) and inclusive design
  • Experience using AI tools to support research, ideation, or design workflows
  • Previous internship, collaborative academic project, or other hands-on design experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future
  • Must have one or more course(s) remaining in a Bachelors or Graduate degree program post internship
  • Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for external Summer Internships, please see Magenta Accelerator if interested

Relocation assistance will be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location.

Intern wages range from $27/hour to $50/hour. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on education/STEM vs non-STEM designation.
