WHOOP is hiring a Staff Product Designer to define the next generation of connected member experiences. In this highly collaborative, 0-to-1 role, you’ll establish the UX foundations for emerging products and create intuitive, cohesive experiences that help members better understand and act on their health.

You’ll work at the intersection of product experience, software, and systems thinking, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Design Systems, and Research. You’ll define interaction principles and scalable patterns, navigate complex product and technical constraints, and shape how members experience WHOOP across an evolving ecosystem.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the end-to-end design of new connected member experiences, from early discovery and concept development through production-ready designs.

  • Define interaction principles, navigation models, information architecture, and scalable UX patterns that create intuitive and consistent experiences across the WHOOP ecosystem.

  • Design cohesive member journeys across multiple touchpoints, translating complex product capabilities and information into clear, intuitive interactions that prioritize utility and ease of use.

  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Design Systems, and Platform teams to navigate constraints, make thoughtful tradeoffs, and bring high-quality experiences to market.

  • Prototype and test interaction models, workflows, and product concepts to validate assumptions, accelerate decision-making, and continuously refine the member experience.

  • Help shape the long-term UX vision for emerging WHOOP products, championing simplicity and contributing to the continued evolution of WHOOP design principles.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 7+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of high-quality consumer product experiences.

  • Exceptional UX and interaction design skills, with demonstrated ability to simplify complex problems and workflows into intuitive, member-centered experiences.

  • Strong systems thinking, including experience developing information architecture, navigation models, reusable interaction patterns, or design frameworks.

  • Experience designing highly crafted mobile experiences and working across multiple touchpoints, platforms, form factors, or interaction paradigms.

  • High proficiency in Figma and prototyping, with the ability to use prototypes to explore ideas, communicate interaction models, and accelerate product decisions.

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with demonstrated success partnering with Product, Engineering, Research, and other cross-functional teams to influence product direction and bring complex experiences to market.

  • Passion for health, fitness, and building products that empower people to better understand and improve their daily lives.

  • Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.

This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.

At WHOOP, we view total compensation as the combination of base salary, equity, and benefits, with equity serving as a key differentiator that aligns our employees with the long-term success of the company and allows every member of our corporate team to own part of WHOOP and share in the company’s long-term growth and success.

 

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $175,000-$220,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.

 

In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.

 

These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidate’s specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
