Senior Perception Applied Scientist will have proven hands-on experience developing and integrating state of the art computer vision systems for complicated robot systems.
What you will do
- Develop, research, and implement new vision algorithms for robotic manipulation and navigation, including working collaboratively to develop interfaces between robot perception and skill execution.
- Design object representations, grounding skill parameterizations, build environmental state estimators and developing other related algorithms.
- Integrate existing state-of-the-art vision algorithms on robot hardware.
- Support project software, including designing modular software systems and assisting with software infrastructure like calibration efforts, camera drivers, and containerization.
- Mentor junior engineers and researchers.
- Promote and enforce quality and reliability of code through mentorship and regular code reviews.
What we are looking for
- BS, MS or PhD in computer science, robotics, electrical/mechanical/aerospace engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years in a related industry
- Strong programming skills with Python and/or C++Experience with ROS 2 and robotic software integration is required
- Experience with fielding research level computer vision systems on physical hardware. Robotics setting preferred
- Proven track record of collaboration and mentorship of junior colleagues
- Good grasp of a broad set of techniques related to computer vision such as object representation learning, 3D object modeling, scene graph estimation, object pose estimation, skill transfer, predicate learning, Gaussian splatting, point tracking, or correspondence learning is required
Bonus
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch is a bonus
