The role supports the Asset Management Services business within Instrument and Enterprise Services. Asset Management Services is a global services business, and this position will have primary financial responsibility for supporting the European business, along with responsibilities across the broader global organization.

The position offers meaningful exposure to an international business and the opportunity to partner with Commercial, Operations, Accounting, and Finance colleagues across functions and geographies.

How You Will Make an Impact

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who is ready to take greater ownership and accountability while developing a deeper understanding of the business behind the numbers.

You will own key financial reporting, forecasting, planning, and performance analysis, with accountability for delivering accurate, timely, and meaningful financial insights. You will develop a strong understanding of the commercial and operational drivers of the business, identify risks and opportunities, and help translate financial performance into actions.

Working across Finance, Commercial, Operations, and Accounting, you will help drive financial discipline and accountability, ensuring performance gaps are understood, actions are followed through, and leaders have the insights needed to make sound business decisions.

This is an opportunity to own meaningful work, gain global business exposure, and build the financial and business partnering experience for continued career growth.

What You Will Do

  • Own key financial reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis, with accountability for the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of financial information.
  • Analyze performance against forecast, plan, and prior periods to identify business drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Partner with Commercial and Operations teams to understand revenue, profitability, expenses, business pacing, and other drivers of performance.
  • Translate financial and operational data into clear insights that help the business understand what happened, why it happened, and what actions are needed next.
  • Drive follow-through on financial commitments by highlighting performance gaps, appropriately challenging assumptions, and helping business partners maintain accountability for agreed actions.
  • Support monthly forecasting, annual planning, and long-term planning processes, ensuring assumptions are well understood and appropriately supported.
  • Partner with Accounting during the monthly close to ensure the integrity of financial results, investigate unusual items, support accruals, and resolve financial reporting issues.
  • Build financial models and provide analysis supporting pricing, expenses, headcount, investments, and other business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and automate reporting, forecasting, and analytical processes to improve efficiency and insight.

How You Will Get Here

Education

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.

Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant Finance experience, preferably in financial planning and analysis, commercial finance, or business finance.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including forecasting, budgeting, reporting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems, financial reporting or planning tools, and Microsoft Excel. Experience with SAP, Hyperion Planning, Power BI, Cognos, or similar platforms is beneficial.
  • Strong communication and business partnering skills, with the ability to translate financial analysis into clear insights and build relationships across functions and geographies.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, ownership, and accountability, with the confidence to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and consistently deliver high-quality work.

What Will Make You Successful

You are curious, accountable, and motivated to understand the business behind the numbers. You take ownership of your work, follow through on commitments, and investigate when something does not look right.

You don't stop at identifying a variance—you work to understand the cause, communicate the impact, and help ensure the right actions are taken.

You want to use Finance to help drive better decisions, stronger financial discipline, and accountability across the business.

This role provides the opportunity to own meaningful work, develop a global perspective, build strong business partnerships, and continue growing your Finance career at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
