About us:
Cyvl is a Boston-based tech startup revolutionizing how civil engineering firms and governments map and manage transportation infrastructure. Our enterprise-grade hardware and software solutions leverage 3D mapping sensors to capture LiDAR, imagery, and GPS data—retrofitted to our customers' vehicles. This data is processed through our AI-powered cloud pipelines to generate actionable geospatial insights that save cities and engineering firms time, money, and resources.

We’re in a high-growth phase, backed by strong market traction and a tight-knit team solving real-world infrastructure challenges.

About the role:
We’re looking for a technically sharp, detail-oriented Solutions Support Engineer to help us deliver high-quality data products at scale. In this role, you’ll take ownership of resolving complex delivery issues—particularly those involving geospatial accuracy, dataset mismatches, and edge-case processing problems.

You’ll also help support custom client needs, such as formatting deliverables to specific schemas or integrating with third-party systems. While not primarily customer-facing, you’ll occasionally interact with customers to clarify requirements or follow up on escalated issues. You’ll work closely with internal teams to scope and execute these solutions.

You’ll also be expected to explore and leverage emerging AI tools to detect delivery errors, automate repetitive tasks, and accelerate your ability to support complex workflows.

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues that affect data deliverables, including GIS mismatches, missing attributes, or structural formatting errors
  • Support and implement customer-specific customizations, including data reformatting and schema alignment for integrations into external platforms
  • Serve as the internal point of contact for complex, high-touch customer service issues
  • Collaborate with GIS analysts, data operations engineers, and product managers to implement fixes and ensure on-time delivery
  • Clarify technical requirements with customers when needed, escalating only when necessary
  • Build or modify lightweight scripts, QA tools, or documentation to streamline recurring fixes
  • Maintain a high bar for quality assurance across all Cyvl data deliverables
  • Leverage AI tools to assist in debugging, QA automation, and diagnostics

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a technical support, data QA, GIS, or operations engineering role
  • Strong understanding of geospatial data (e.g., shapefiles, GeoJSON, spatial joins, projections)
  • Experience troubleshooting technical workflows or datasets under deadline
  • Proficient with Python or similar scripting languages for light automation or debugging
  • Experience with common Python data science frameworks like Pandas & Geopandas
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical teammates
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and calm under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS, PostGIS)
  • Prior experience supporting or QA’ing data analytics or geospatial products
  • Knowledge of LiDAR, mapping, or remote sensing workflows
  • Experience working in startups or high-velocity product environments
  • Exposure to customer support tooling (Zendesk, Intercom, etc.)

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and equity package
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Opportunities for career growth in a high-impact, cross-functional role
  • A collaborative and fast-paced environment solving critical infrastructure challenges
  • Autonomy and ownership from day one

Ideal Cyvl Candidate

  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership
  • Quick thinker and adaptable under pressure
  • Technically hands-on and comfortable rolling up their sleeves
  • Great communicator who can instill customer confidence
  • Energized by being on the front lines of technology deployment
  • Obsessed with getting things done

If you're a results-driven individual with a passion for technology, then we want you to apply to join our team. At Cyvl, you'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and make a meaningful impact on the world.
