Role overview
As a core member of the Search Platform team(SPT), this Software Engineer II will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts and product managers, to guide projects from concept through technical design, implementation, testing, and performance measurement.
This person will also develop and deploy clean, well-tested, efficient, and production-ready code, ensuring high standards of quality and performance.
What you'll do
  • Work in a multi-functional team with data analysts, product managers, and of course, other engineers.
  • Participate in whiteboard sessions and design conversations on engineering the best solution to the challenges at hand.
  • Test out new insights with novel and quick experiments.
  • Iterate rapidly and deploy changes daily.
  • Collaborate with and be mentored by seasoned engineers.
  • Improve search and data access experience and performance for millions of users across millions of cars globally.
  • Ensure reliable and timely production support for mission-critical SPT applications, maintaining optimal performance and addressing high-priority incidents with efficiency.

What you'll bring
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Familiar with Java (preferred) or similar language.
  • Experience with concurrency, multi-threading, web applications and event driven architectures.
  • Proven expertise in optimizing application performance through the design and implementation of efficient caching strategies and performance improvement techniques.
  • Data-driven when making decisions.
  • Experience in Search Engine Framework is preferred.

The displayed range represents the expected annual base salary / On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this position. On-Target Earnings (OTE) is inclusive of base salary and on-target commission earnings, which applies exclusively to sales roles.
Individual pay within this range is determined by work location and other factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This annual base salary forms part of a comprehensive Total Rewards Package. In addition to benefits, this role may qualify for discretionary bonuses/incentives and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
Position Pay Range
$112,000 - $141,000 USD
