Job Description

Dewberry is seeking a Senior Project Manager to serve the vital function of positioning the company in the Transportation Market, with specific focus on rail transit, bus, multi-modal  clients in the Northeast. The successful candidate will join our growing Northeast Environmental group and will be based in our Boston MA office to increase the company’s visibility, presence and resources in the transit market.  The team player we seek will be a transportation practitioner with regional experience in the transit industry, with an understanding of intermodal and pedestrian interface.  The successful candidate should also have significant relationships with transit clients and the industry.

Responsibilities
  • Promote the ability to market and sell Dewberry transit services, build and maintain client relationships with a focus on growth
  • Manage contracts, multi-disciplined transit initiatives, for diversified clients and multi-disciplined planning teams
  • Lead and mentor Dewberry planning staff
  • Interact on multi-disciplinary teams to incorporate and expand our capabilities in intermodal transit activities
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, transportation agencies, at the local, state, and federal levels. 
  • Serve as a strategic advisor, helping clients navigate transit and multi-modal challenges while advancing critical infrastructure projects.
  • Support transit agency initiatives and expand transit operations and coordination, facilities, multi-modal strategies, and feasibility studies
  • Determine scope of work and prepare staff hour estimates for transit planning tasks. 

We're looking for a collaborative, client-focused leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and brings a strong understanding of the environmental, regulatory, and technical considerations that drive successful project delivery. 

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s Science degree in Engineering Planning or related field
  • 15 - 20+ years’ experience in transportation industry
  • 5-10 years’ experience in project management
  • Ability to develop and implement multi-disciplinary and multi geographical client action plans
  • Ability to directly develop new work for rail and transit clients
  • Massachusetts and New England agency and regulatory relationships / experience is highly preferred
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution and project management skills and work experience
  • Active/past involvement with professional organizations and/or interest in advancing involvement at the State or national level

Dewberry offers a comprehensive and very competitive package of insurance programs to regular full-time employees and their eligible dependents the first of the month following their date of hire. The insurance package includes medical, dental, vision, and supplemental life. Additional insurances, at no cost to the employee: life (employee only), accidental death and dismemberment, business travel and accident, and short- and long-term disability are also provided. Employees pay a share of Dewberry’s premium expenses (on a pre-tax basis) for medical and dental insurance plans.


Dewberry offers a wide range of other employee benefits, including: 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan, 529 College Savings Plans, Travel Assistance, Tuition Reimbursement, Flexible Spending Accounts and Supplemental Life Insurance for employee, spouse, and children.


Positions within our officer program are also eligible for an annual bonus and monthly stipend.  Both vary based on level within the program and bonuses are dependent upon company and individual performance. Certain positions are also eligible to receive overtime pay, whereas all non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime (subject to approval).


In addition, a host of discounted purchase programs are available to all employees.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $144,000 to $205,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for Boston, MA only.
