Snowflake is about empowering enterprises to achieve their full potential — and people too. With a culture that’s all in on impact, innovation, and collaboration, Snowflake is the sweet spot for building big, moving fast, and taking technology — and careers — to the next level.

As an Industry CTO on the Industry and Data/AI Architect teams at Snowflake, you'll be a trusted technical partner who helps drive industry-specific data and AI transformation for customers and partners. Your goal is to help customers unlock measurable business value by adopting and building on Snowflake's AI Data Cloud.

As an Industry CTO for the public sector, you’ll combine your deep expertise in the government sector (SLED and FED) with modern AI and data architecture knowledge to guide customers and create data-driven and AI-powered solutions. You'll lead with an architectural vision and help win new business through your combination of technology and industry leadership.

You'll report to the Director of Industry Architects and work closely with the public sector Go-to-Market (GTM) POD team to co-own account strategy and execution.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL GET TO:
  • Partner with customers on strategic opportunities: You will drive customer engagement in strategic deals where your industry expertise can help drive Snowflake adoption. You’ll build trusted relationships with executives and enterprise data architects at customer organizations, acting as a trusted advisor who blends business and technical context to advance opportunities.

  • Innovate and design solutions: Working with the public sector sales and solution engineering teams, you'll translate your experience in the public sector to solutions and sales assets that resonate with various departments in the government sector. This includes creating end-to-end architectures and future-state blueprints, demo showcases that embed AI/ML and agentic flows into solutions. You will bring your expertise in security and compliance requirements of various government departments and agencies to develop architectures and build product fitment point of views.

  • Drive repeatability and scale: You'll lead strategic initiatives by building repeatable solution assets and frameworks that can be leveraged for global adoption. Your deliverables will include system/application architecture, demo showcases that integrate Snowflake into a customer's broader solutions portfolio and ecosystem. You'll also scale your expertise through field enablement and by creating workshops and playbooks. This is very much a strategic planner and hands on builder role

  • Influence the Product and Public Sector roadmap: Act as a conduit to the product teams, providing structured feedback based on industry needs and customer requirements to help shape Snowflake's product roadmap for the public sector.

  • Be a thought leader: Drive technical thought leadership for the public sector through blogs, talks, and field enablement. You will also be a key contributor to industry marketing activities including webinars and conferences.

  • 10+ years of architecture experience building, consulting to, or implementing technology for government departments and agencies with experience working directly on government cloud platforms a plus.

  • Deep expertise in the public sector industry with an excellent understanding of data topics and challenges related to various government departments and agencies. Global understanding of public sectors in various regions is a plus

  • Leverage public sector experience to define global strategy for public sector across geographics, but focus on local Americas market from execution standpoint to drive growth

  • Broad range of experience with technical and design direction including large-scale database and/or data warehouse technology, ETL, analytics and public cloud technologies

  • Strong knowledge of SQL, Python with hands-on experience is required. Experience in Java, Scala, or other languages is a plus

  • 5+ years of Cloud Provider (AWS, Azure or GCP) customer facing architecture development experience

WHAT ARE THE TYPICAL GOALS FOR THE ROLE?

Proactive customer guidance:
  • Technical Industry Overview and Architecture: how is the Industry adopting Snowflake, and which Industry value drivers does Snowflake attach to?

  • Technical Use Case Overviews: extend Use Case presentations with how the Use Cases might be addressed, technical architectures and decision points.

  • Ecosystem partner engagement: does the customer need an interface or vendor guidance with ecosystem partners? Is there an ecosystem participant without a Data Cloud presence we should introduce to the wider Snowflake team? Perhaps a data provider which is currently not Marketplace ready? We can facilitate these conversations and advocate for the customer and the vendor with other teams within Snowflake.

  • Solution architecture and review: Snowflake has a diverse ecosystem of Industry participants with domain-specific solutions to a wide range of Use Cases, and domain-specific architecture reviews play a key role..

  • Strategic stakeholder alignment: C-level and direct reports may require strategic, longer running relationships which maintain consistency and alignment across business units and use cases. The role can help maintain global consistency of vision and assist individual geographies and allow the Lead SE to focus on the individual account management.

  • Strong alignment with the public sector industry Team

  • Technical Industry trend PoV: Data Mesh, Data Vault, GenAI, Data Lakes vs Warehouse vs Lakehouses… view these technical trends through an Industry lens, including case studies, challenges and tradeoffs.

  • Snowdays: bring in the wider team! Complement the customer’s point of view with a wider Industry perspective, perhaps including assistance with bespoke Solution/lab setups for the subindustry.

  • RFP support: provide support to prepare response for Government RFPs that Snowflake public sector team decides to respond

INTERNAL ENGAGEMENT

We are always looking for ways to scale our offering. We welcome opportunities to gather a group of SE’s to drive and foster better industry alignment and knowledge sharing.
