As a Senior Manager Technical Program Management, you will lead a team responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering strategic technology programs within Staples Digital Solutions. You will oversee program execution from planning through implementation, stabilization, and measurement, ensuring milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and stakeholder communications are managed with discipline and transparency. This is an opportunity to shape how complex technology work gets delivered at scale while helping teams move faster, make better decisions, and create meaningful outcomes for the business.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead, coach, and develop Technical Program Managers and Technical Project Managers supporting assigned Staples Digital Solutions programs.
  • Oversee program execution across planning, implementation, stabilization, measurement, and operational handoff.
  • Review integrated program plans, roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, resource assumptions, risks, issues, and decisions to keep delivery on track.
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, QA, DevSecOps, Operations, vendors, and business partners.
  • Facilitate program planning sessions, working meetings, risk reviews, governance routines, and executive status updates.
  • Partner with product and engineering leaders to identify capacity, quality, feasibility, timeline, and dependency concerns and support timely resolution.
  • Build and maintain program health measures, dashboards, milestone tracking, executive reporting, and escalation materials.
  • Analyze delivery metrics, risks, stakeholder feedback, and program performance to recommend corrective actions and improve predictability.
  • Coordinate vendor-dependent workstreams, commitments, milestones, issue resolution, and escalation materials in partnership with Procurement, Finance, Vendor Management, Legal, Product, and Engineering.
  • Promote consistent use of program templates, tools, checklists, operating practices, and governance routines to strengthen program management maturity.

  • Practical understanding of Agile delivery, product development, technology modernization, platform delivery, release readiness, and operational handoff practices.
  • Interest in improving how technology programs are delivered through better governance, repeatable practices, and continuous improvement.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in technical program management, product program management, technology delivery, platform delivery, or engineering program leadership.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams, programs, or cross-functional technical initiatives with measurable business or technology outcomes.
  • Experience managing complex program plans, roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, scope, and stakeholder communications.
  • Experience collaborating across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, QA, Operations, Finance, Procurement, vendors, and business teams.
  • Experience establishing or managing program KPIs, delivery dashboards, executive status materials, milestone tracking, and governance routines.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
  • Experience using program or delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Planview, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • PMP certification or equivalent program management certification.

What’s needed- Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Technology Management, Organizational Leadership, or a related discipline.
  • Experience leading enterprise platform, cloud, infrastructure, security, data, eCommerce, supply chain, retail technology, or modernization programs.
  • Experience managing vendor-dependent program delivery, executive escalations, contract milestones, or third-party technology partners.
  • Experience supporting program governance, budget tracking, resource coordination, release readiness, and operational readiness.
  • PgMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, Scrum, Lean Six Sigma, or related certifications.
  • Experience managing and developing technical program or project management professionals and improving the consistent use of program management practices.
  • Familiarity with AI-SDLC, automation, DevSecOps, QA automation, cloud platforms, integration patterns, observability, CI/CD, or enterprise architecture concepts.
  • Domain experience in one or more of the following areas: eCommerce, supply chain, sales, AI platforms or AI business enablement, infrastructure, security, or retail store operations.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation.
