Elucid is at the forefront of Quantitative Imaging, Tissue Characterization, and Atherosclerotic Plaque Analysis, and we’re expanding our Image Processing team! In this role, we’re looking for a seasoned industry-experienced engineer with a strong background in medical imaging beyond academia, who can be the technical expert in a talented multidisciplinary team of engineers and clinicians.
As the Principal Image Processing Engineer, we will rely on your deep expertise in C++ and image processing pipelines to spearhead the design and development of our software architecture. Your advanced knowledge will be crucial for crafting efficient and robust image processing algorithms, ensuring that our systems are not only powerful but also scalable and maintainable. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting a cutting-edge asynchronous framework that integrates seamlessly with our existing technologies while pushing the boundaries of innovation in medical imaging. Your ability to design and optimize complex image processing and machine learning pipelines will be pivotal in driving the success of our products, delivering exceptional value to healthcare professionals and improving patient outcomes. 
The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in image processing or computer vision in an industry setting, preferably in the medical sector.
  • MS in computer science or engineering required, PhD is preferred.
  • Experience with volumetric and high-dimensional imaging modalities (e.g., MRI, CT) and DICOM standards is required.
  • Strong experience in C/C++, CUDA, and Python is required.
  • Prior experience with ITK, VTK, Qt, and Cmake is required.
  • Experience with machine learning in an industry setting is desired.
  • Experience with CI/CD and MLOps pipelines is a plus.
Work Location
  • This is a role based out of our office in Boston, MA. Our team is hybrid and has a preference for local candidates or those located in eastern time zones in the continental U.S.
