Cozen O’Connor is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Financial Systems Engineer to join our Financial Systems team. This role will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for the design, development, implementation, support, and continuous improvement of integrations, reporting solutions, and automated processes supporting the firm's Finance organization, with a primary focus on Aderant Expert. This position reports to the Manager of Financial Systems.
Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and expertise related in the design, development, implementation, and support of integrations between financial systems and enterprise applications, collaborating across Finance and IS teams.
- Lead the technical aspects of financial systems projects, including requirements gathering, solutions design, testing, implementation, and continuous process improvement.
- Partner with Finance and IS stakeholders to evaluate business requirements, recommended solutions and enhancements, and identify opportunities to improve existing systems, processes, and reporting.
- Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between Aderant Expert and other financial, business, and enterprise applications using Microsoft technologies, including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Design, develop, optimize, and support SQL Server database solutions, including complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and other database objects that support financial applications, reporting, integrations, and automation.
- Design, develop, and maintain reporting solutions utilizing SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and other reporting tools to deliver operational, financial, and ad hoc reporting capabilities.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for financial applications, integrations, automated processes, and reporting solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or IS related field, or equivalent.
- 7-10 years of experience supporting financial systems, business applications, and SQL Server databases.
- Experience with Aderant Expert, including database structures, APIs, and integration technologies, or a comparable enterprise financial management platform.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, including database development, query optimization, performance tuning, data analysis, data validation, and troubleshooting complex relational data issues.
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages and related integration solutions.
- Experience developing reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and other reporting tools.
- Experience working with Microsoft Visual Studio and related development tools; Power BI experience preferred.
- Experience working with AI and machine learning technologies preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently own and drive technical initiatives from requirements gathering through design, development, implementation, and ongoing support with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects, production support responsibilities, and competing business demands while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency, with the ability to quickly assess issues, determine appropriate solutions, and execute effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business terms for different audiences and build comprehensive technical documentation.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively across Finance, IS, vendors, and other business stakeholders.
- Experience working with highly sensitive or confidential financial and client information.
The salary range for this role is $135,000 - $170,000 and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.
