Senior Electrical Engineering Technician
Position Summary
The Senior Electrical Engineering Technician provides advanced technical support to the electrical engineering team in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of electrical and electronic systems. This role involves complex troubleshooting, prototype development/EDVT, system integration, and mentoring junior technicians. The Senior EE Technician ensures engineering projects meet technical specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities• Support electrical engineers in the design, development, and validation of electrical and electronic systems.• Build, modify and debug prototypes, wiring harnesses, and circuit boards.• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on electrical and electronic equipment and systems.• Develop and maintain test setups, automated test systems, and validation procedures.• Conduct electrical testing and data analysis using lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.• Review schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings to ensure proper implementation.• Document test procedures, engineering changes, and technical findings.• Partner with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support product development.• Mentor junior technicians and help drive best practices in the lab.
Required Qualifications• Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).• 5+ years of hands-on experience in electrical or electronics engineering support roles.• Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, analog and digital electronics, and electronic components.• Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.• Experience using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, and logic analyzers.• Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.• Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills• PCB assembly, soldering, and rework, including surface-mount components.• Experience with CAD or schematic tools (Altium, KiCad, AutoCAD Electrical).• Familiarity with embedded systems or microcontrollers.• Exposure to automated testing, data acquisition systems, or Python-based test scripting.
