At Northern Light, the Senior Business Development Representative plays a critical role in fueling our growth by generating and qualifying new business opportunities. Reporting to the Senior Director, Sales, the Business Development Representative is an individual contributor who collaborates closely with marketing and sales teams to engage target accounts, build strong prospect relationships, and drive top-of-funnel activity for our enterprise sales pipeline. 


This is a high-impact, front-line role ideal for a results-driven professional eager to grow their career in enterprise SaaS sales.
 


Responsibilities:
 

  • Identify and research target accounts across Northern Light’s ideal customer profiles in key industries such as life sciences, professional services, and manufacturing. 
  • Initiate contact through personalized outbound outreach—email, phone, and LinkedIn—to generate interest and schedule qualified discovery meetings. 
  • Respond to inbound leads and inquiries, ensuring timely follow-up and accurate qualification based on criteria such as budget, authority, need, and timeline (BANT). 
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to refine messaging and targeting strategies based on campaign performance and market feedback. 
  • Maintain accurate records of all prospect interactions and progress in CRM (Salesforce). 
  • Meet or exceed weekly activity goals and monthly qualified opportunity targets. 
  • Stay current on Northern Light’s platform capabilities, customer use cases, and competitive landscape. 



Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of experience in a sales or business development role, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment. 
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a strong attention to detail. 
  • Strong research skills and the ability to personalize outreach to different buyer personas. 
  • Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented. 
  • Experience using CRM and sales engagement tools (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo). 
  • A passion for technology, learning, and driving results. 

 

Work authorization requirements:   

Must be authorized to work in the United States (unfortunately, we cannot sponsor visas).  

Job Type: Full-time.  

 

Work Location:
Remote within the US. 
(Preference for Eastern Standard Time Zone) 

Base Salary Range: $55,000 USD – $65,000 USD depending on qualifications and years of experience. 

 

This position is eligible for commission in addition to the base salary of between $33,000 and $39,000. The actual amount will vary and will be subject to the terms and conditions set in the commission plan.
