Position Overview:
The Senior Architect is a key member of an IT Delivery Team supporting Acadian's Global Client Group, including Business Development, Client Service, Client Reporting, Marketing Production, RFP writing, and other business functions. Serving as a liaison between business stakeholders and Technology, the Senior Architect analyzes business processes, systems, and data to deliver scalable technology solutions and improve existing applications. The role partners closely with business users to understand objectives, streamline workflows, improve data quality, and reduce operational risk.
Responsibilities span strategic initiatives, application enhancements, systems integration, and production support across business entity mastering, client reporting, client relationship and marketing technology, business intelligence, AI initiatives, and enterprise data platforms. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, analytical problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage competing priorities, and communicates effectively with both business and technical teams. This position reports to the Principal Business Analyst.
Acadian supports a hybrid work environment; employees are on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as a primary liaison between business stakeholders and Technology to define and deliver effective solutions.
- Build trusted partnerships with business users to understand objectives, identify improvement opportunities, and translate requirements into actionable user stories and functional specifications.
- Analyze business processes, systems, and data to improve efficiency, data quality, controls, and user experience.
- Document business workflows, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, business rules, and data governance requirements.
- Participate in solution design, testing, implementation, and post-production validation.
- Develop test scenarios, coordinate user acceptance testing, and validate production releases.
- Investigate, prioritize, and coordinate resolution of production issues.
- Produce clear documentation, knowledge articles, and user training materials.
- Partner with other IT delivery teams on cross-functional initiatives.
- Contribute to product roadmaps and longer-term technology planning.
- Conduct meetings and drive collaboration between business and technical teams.
We’re Looking for Teammates With:
- Bachelor's degree required. MBA or CFA preferred
- 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst or Business Architect in the investment management or investment software industry
- Strong knowledge of investment management concepts, including clients, accounts, securities, cash flows, performance measurement, and client reporting
- Proven knowledge in two or more of the following domains: Client Reporting, Investment Operations, Performance Measurement, Fund Accounting, CRM, Market Data, Trading
- Strong business, systems, and data analysis skills.
- Experience gathering, documenting, and validating business and functional requirements in Agile environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders, set priorities, and manage expectations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with relational databases, APIs, JSON/XML, web services, and modern application architectures.
- Experience with data modeling and business intelligence tools (Tableau preferred).
- Experience with Salesforce, Seismic, SimCorp Coric, or similar CRM and client reporting platforms preferred.
- Experience supporting enterprise master data platforms (account, security, position master) preferred.
- Exposure to AWS, AI technologies, and modern software development practices preferred.
The base salary range for this role is $175,000 – $200,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and relevant experience. In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for discretionary incentive compensation and includes participation in Acadian’s comprehensive benefits program, which includes health, retirement, and wellness offerings.
