About the Job:

LaunchDarkly is building the runtime control layer for the AI era, helping engineering teams govern what ships in production and how software and AI agents behave after deployment.

As Senior Accounting Manager, you’ll play a key role in strengthening the financial operations behind that work: owning critical close and technical accounting activities, supporting international entities and audit readiness, and partnering across Finance, Technology, and the business. You’ll also lead and develop a global team while improving accounting workflows, systems, and controls, including through automation and AI. This is an opportunity to combine hands-on accounting expertise with meaningful leadership and operational impact at a company shaping how teams build and run software.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing global accounting team with clear roles, decision rights, objectives, and development plans
  • Manage and accelerate close activities for key corporate accounting functions, including general accounting, treasury, accounts payable, employee reimbursements, and corporate card program management, and identify opportunities for close timeline compression
  • Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses in compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Execute technical accounting for stock-based compensation (ASC 718), leases (ASC 842), and foreign currency matters (ASC 830), including drafting analyses and memos for review
  • Lead the implementation of a procure-to-pay (PTP) tool, with a focus on the PO-to-Pay workflow, partnering with Procurement, IT, and business stakeholders from requirements through rollout and adoption
  • Support and partner with the International Accounting team to ensure intercompany transactions and subsidiaries’ financial reporting are accurate and timely
  • Partner with Technology teams and business stakeholders on ERP enhancements/implementations, integrations, and reporting improvements
  • Document and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and key controls
  • Identify and implement opportunities for workflow improvement and systems optimization/AI automation across the close and accounting operations lifecycle
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • At least eight years of progressive accounting experience
  • At least three years of experience leading a team of accountants
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Hands-on experience in NetSuite (or a similar ERP), including improving workflows and reports
  • Ability to operate independently with strong accountability and initiative
  • Demonstrated experience using automation and AI tools to improve efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations
  • Experience working in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment
  • Ability to work across Finance and the business and explain complex accounting clearly to leaders, auditors, and colleagues outside Finance
  • Preferred, not required:

    • Big 4 experience
    • CPA certification
    • Experience in a high-growth technology company
