Hybrid : This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren - GM Global Technical Center three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business
Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize relationships. Maintain GM's competitive advantage as the OEM benchmark in terms of how to manage the semiconductor supply crisis.
  • Collaborate across GPSC (Purchasing commodity teams and Supply Chain) as well as with our suppliers (Tier1 and semiconductor) to confirm future supply forecast and drive additional coverage to GM
  • Map semiconductor supply chains back to wafer fabrication to identify critical constraints. Provide clarity to supply crises to ensure effective GM supply chain response.
  • Support investigation of semiconductor supply alternative and reallocation opportunities
  • Collaborate with Purchasing commodity teams and Semiconductor Supply Chain Buyers to identify semiconductors available in the market for critical constraints
  • Prepare organization for semiconductor supplier leadership reviews

Required Skills:
  • 2+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, manufacturing, logistics or product development
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams to effectively manage complex projects
  • High level of analytical ability where problems can be complex
  • Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • Self-starter. Ability to work independently and self-directed.
  • Demonstrated competence in negotiating skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis (5% or less) including international travel

Preferred Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, related field
  • Proven supply chain crisis management support
  • Automotive strategic commodity purchasing experience
