We have discovered a transformational opportunity to improve global crop yield and reduce the use of agricultural chemicals and fertilizers by utilizing the core microbiome inside plants to confer material yield and crop protection benefits across a variety of crops, geographies and stresses. The challenge and opportunity for Indigo is to gain critical first mover advantages by scaling quickly and effectively (~$1B 2020 revenue.)
The role of Regional Sales Director will be responsible for developing a region, leveraging existing relationships within that community, driving key performance metrics, and aligning future progression of growth in that region with overall strategy of the Regional General Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Supports individual account managers in achieving territory sales goals including sales calls, liaison with support teams, resources, tools, and addressing grower resistance
- Establishes a regular tempo of communications with sales team to provide updates, training, and connectivity to the organization
- Leverage existing network of growers in sales achievements
- Works closely with business unit VP, functional leaders, and territory team to develop business and operations goals and plans for region
- Establish quarterly goals and plans for successful execution with sales team at territory level
- Provides timely feedback to organization on Indigo offers and customer response
- Provides initial training and ongoing development to team that enables them to succeed
- Coaches team consistently and provides recognition when appropriate
- Addresses performance gaps timely and professionally
- Create positive internal relationships with R&D, Supply Chain, Marketing, Strategy, Sales Ops, People, and Business Development team and work closely with these groups on a day to day basis
- Develop positive business relationships with customers, grower collaborators, end users, Indigo Research Partners, and other external stakeholders

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent industry experience
- 5+ years working in Ag industry
- Experience in a specific region / crop / agronomy / sales / marketing
- Lives in the designated region with 5+ years of residence in region
- Has strong knowledge of farming, may have farming background
- Ability to travel up to 75%
- Holds community leadership position(s)
