Job Description
As a member of the Sales team, you will thrive at building relationships with the top brands in the country. The ideal candidate will work with sophisticated enterprises, enjoy pipeline generation, understand customer requirements, and determine how to solve problems for our clients.
The Director, Business Development (D-BDR) leads a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs). The team's primary responsibility is to conduct very thorough prospect research, and perform active outreach to appropriate executives in specifically targeted prospect North American enterprises in order to facilitate introductions and meaningful engagement with our direct enterprise sales organization, including conference calls, onsite meetings, webinars, and attendance at company sponsored events such as trade shows and conferences. The D-BDR collaborates closely with sales and marketing teams, with the ultimate objective to identify and drive qualified sales opportunities.
Job Responsibilities Essential Job Functions

  • Recruit and lead a high performing team focused on driving qualified sales opportunities, setting a tone of collaboration and excitement.
  • Train and manage BDRs in performing deep research into target accounts in support of our Target Account Planning (TAP) process.
  • Drive/lead BDR efforts that support our Account Based Marketing (ABM) strategy, leveraging data to inform account targeting priorities and to develop unique/personalized outreach messaging for targeted accounts.
  • Responsible for team training efforts, partnering with Sales Enablement and other marketing teams, to ensure team is executing on best practices around prospecting, messaging/value proposition, tools and processes.
  • Collaborate/align with Demand Gen team on various outreach efforts to reach accounts that are showing high engagement.
  • Leverage a test, measure and learn methodolgy for determining best outreach strategies, messages and cadence.
  • Collaborate with executive sales and marketing management on design and management of incentive compensation programs that directly align with the interests of the company.
  • Performance Management: Identify and track appropriate metrics. Manage data collection and perform trend analysis. Report on team performance on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Analyze and report on key conversion metrics, leveraging data to make recommended improvements.
  • Responsible for, in collaboration with Marketing, development of materials that support the appointment setting and contact nurturing process, including role and vertical and account-specific call scripts, email templates, talking points, etc.


Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing Management on best practices and continuous process improvement.
  • Manage outside vendor relationships as needed.


Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years experience in Sales or sales support role.
  • 5+ years experience in a Sales leadership position of a similar nature.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of skill with salesforce.com CRM, Outreach, Microsoft Office, Google Docs tools and application suites.
  • Knowledge/experience with working in an Account Based Marketing environment. Experience with ABM tools (Demandbase, Vidyard) a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills. Knowledge of what insights are required to fully understand and evaluate team performance, and developing solutions to achieve them in an efficient manner is very important.
  • Superior organization skills with a project manager's skill set and an instinct for execution and attention to detail.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to be articulate with strong interpersonal skills.


Preferred

  • Strong familiarity with the contact center / customer care market space, operations environment, performance metrics and vendor ecosystem would be a major plus.
