Renewals Manager

US Remote

Velsera is seeking an experienced Renewals Manager to join the team in the US in a remote role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively engage with all customers with upcoming renewals to discuss contract terms, negotiate pricing and terms, and resolve any renewal-related issues.  Ensure that renewals are closed ahead of the renewal date, or approval from commercial leadership to extend the negotiation period has been attained.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Customer Success, Legal, and Finance teams to maximize individual and overall renewal success and address customer needs or concerns expediently.  Each month, provide a summary to Commercial and Customer Success leadership on trends, risks and proposed improvements to cross-functional ways of working to support optimized renewals at Velsera.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of renewal activities, forecasts, and pipeline in CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce).  Ensure that 100% of renewal data which moves into commercial reporting and FP&A processes is factually correct, and complete.

  • Develop and implement best practices and standardized processes to improve renewal rates and customer experience.  Create an updated version of the Velsera Renewals Playbook that captures roles and responsibilities, key activities, policy for key decisions (e.g. as decision trees), and escalation/approval paths to handle issues and exceptions.

What you bring to the table:

  • Experience working in Clinical Diagnostics OR Life Science space.

  • Able to work cross functionally and lead all Velsera’s contract and vendor renewal needs.

  • Experience working in a similar role for 5 years plus.

  • BS in Bioinformatics, genetics or a life science-related field is strongly preferred.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
