Department OverviewThis position reports to the Cloud Services Support and Deployments Operations team. The Cloud Services Support and Deployments team holds comprehensive responsibility for the former Rave Mobile Safety Software as a Service product suite. Additionally, the team oversees the integration of deployments with other cloud, software, security, and hardware deployments for Motorola Solutions Inc.’s key clients. The department’s objective is to ensure a seamless, unified, and positive customer experience throughout the deployment lifecycle.
Job Description
This role constitutes a senior leadership position, responsible for the development, mentorship, and empowerment of a high-performing team of Project Managers dedicated to the effective deployment of our software solutions for first responder organizations. The Cloud Program Manager directs the success of cloud service products across multiple product lines for Motorola Solutions Inc.’s diverse clientele, including public safety and first responder entities. The primary focus will be on cultivating a collaborative and supportive team dynamic, driving excellence in project execution through astute leadership, and fostering the professional development of each team member. A thorough comprehension of the specific integration requirements of Software as a Service within complex operational environments, alongside exceptional leadership acumen and experience in software deployment, is imperative.
Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Establish and articulate a clear strategic vision for software deployment project management, ensuring the team’s alignment with organizational objectives for public safety clients.
Define and promote best practices, methodologies, and tools for software deployment project management, empowering the team to achieve consistent, high-quality results tailored to the unique requirements of first responder agencies.
Manage the planning, execution, and monitoring of multiple software deployment projects for public safety clients, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
Engage in collaborative partnerships with cross-functional teams, assuming a leadership role to foster robust working relationships and ensure seamless communication throughout the deployment lifecycle, with an acute awareness of the mission-critical nature of public safety operations.
Develop and maintain program-level plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies for the public safety software deployment portfolio, providing clear direction and support to the Project Management team.
Proactively identify and mitigate program-level risks and issues, empowering the team to manage project-level challenges effectively and escalate matters appropriately when necessary.
Monitor and report on critical performance indicators (KPIs) pertaining to public safety software deployment, leveraging data-driven insights to identify areas for enhancement and recognize team accomplishments.
Lead continuous process improvement initiatives within the public safety software deployment process, encouraging team contribution and utilizing expertise to enhance efficiency, security, and customer satisfaction for first responder clients.
Manage stakeholder expectations at a program level, ensuring transparent and consistent communication while empowering the team to foster strong relationships with public safety stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, standards, and security protocols applicable to software deployments for public safety agencies, providing the team with requisite guidance and resources.
Serve as a role model for leadership, exhibiting robust communication, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Preferred Requirements:
Expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, hybrid approaches) and associated tools.
Exceptional leadership, communication (written and verbal), coaching, and interpersonal skills, coupled with the capacity to inspire and motivate a team.
Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all organizational levels, including first responder personnel and agency leadership.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven methodology, emphasizing the reliability and security of public safety deployments.
Experience working with first responder agencies (e.g., law enforcement, fire service, emergency medical services).
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other pertinent leadership credentials or experience.
Experience with specific software deployment tools and technologies applicable to products in the public safety sector.
Knowledge of data security and compliance mandates relevant to public safety agencies (e.g., Criminal Justice Information Services [CJIS]).
Experience in developing and delivering training programs for technical teams and end-users in the public safety domain, as well as for project management best practices.
Target Base Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000 USD

Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
10+ years of progressive experience leading project management/customer success with a substantial emphasis on software deployment, ideally within the public safety sector or enterprise accounts.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
