Join Staples as a Program Manager, Customer Marketing (Public Sector) and help shape targeted, insight-driven marketing programs that create demand, deepen customer engagement, and support pipeline growth. You will connect customer data, business priorities, and buyer needs to coordinated campaigns across Sales, Marketing, Digital, Creative, and Analytics. 

What you will be doing:

  • Develop targeted campaigns for the public sector (K-12, higher ed, government, non-profits) based on customer needs, buying behaviors, and market opportunities.
  • Partner with Sales and cross-functional Marketing teams to align campaign priorities with pipeline and revenue goals.
  • Prioritize initiatives based on expected business impact and resource investment.
  • Activate integrated, multi-channel programs across email, trade publications, paid media, sales enablement, the website, and partner channels.
  • Oversee campaign execution to ensure quality, consistency, and on-time delivery.
  • Create audience-specific messaging, value propositions, and buyer-centric narratives informed by customer insights and business priorities.
  • Manage the development of white papers, videos, articles, case studies, testimonials, and other campaign assets in partnership with Creative and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and maintain sales enablement tools, including pitch decks, case studies, and value propositions.
  • Define KPIs and measurement frameworks with Analytics to evaluate program effectiveness and ROI.
  • Lead a structured test-and-learn approach to improve targeting, messaging, personalization, and channel mix.
  • Analyze marketing and pipeline performance data, translate insights into recommendations, and inform future campaign strategies.
  • Lead projects or workstreams across a matrixed organization, coordinating resources, priorities, and timelines.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship to junior team members or project contributors as needed.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Analytical, customer-focused thinking with a strong commitment to measurement, testing, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly present campaign strategies, insights, and recommendations.
  • Ability to translate customer, campaign, and pipeline data into actionable marketing strategies and programs.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills across Sales, Marketing, Creative, Digital, and Analytics.
  • Proactive, self-directed approach with sound judgment and appropriate escalation when strategic direction or prioritization is needed.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

What’s needed: Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B marketing, demand generation, content development, or lifecycle marketing.
  • 5+ years of combined experience developing or executing targeted marketing programs and partnering across functions to move complex work forward.
  • Hands-on experience executing targeted marketing programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to customize messaging and content for specific audiences, accounts, or buying groups.
  • Experience partnering with Sales teams and supporting revenue-driven initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to keep work on time and on budget.
  • Experience using performance metrics to evaluate and improve campaigns and translate insights into action.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex programs and drive execution across multiple teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in B2B marketing within the public sector.
  • Experience supporting account-based marketing or targeted demand generation strategies.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms and CRM systems, such as Salesforce or Marketo.
  • Experience developing sales enablement materials for complex offerings.
  • Demonstrated success driving measurable pipeline or revenue impact through marketing programs.
  • Advanced analytical experience building measurement frameworks and test-and-learn strategies.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity.  In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for bonuses, or other forms of variable compensation. ​
