Product Owner – EdTech Digital Platform
Hybrid | Full-Time | Early-Stage Startup
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are an early-stage EdTech company building an innovative socially impactful digital platform. We are looking for a driven Product Owner to serve as the primary bridge between our founding team and our overseas third-party developers— ensuring our vision is translated into a high-quality, scalable product, on time and to spec.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Strategy & Roadmap
● Own and maintain the product roadmap aligned to business goals
● Translate vision into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
● Prioritize features in collaboration with leadership and end-users
● Track product metrics and use data to drive decisions
Vendor & Offshore Team Management
● Primary contact for the external dev team across time zones
● Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
● Hold the vendor accountable to timelines, scope, and quality
● Identify and resolve risks and blockers proactively
Stakeholder Collaboration & Quality
● Work with founders and end-users to gather feedback and iterate
● Communicate product progress clearly to non-technical stakeholders
● Maintain PRDs, wireframes, and user story documentation
● Coordinate UAT and ensure sign-off before each release
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
● 3+ years as a Product Owner, PM, or similar role
● Proven experience managing offshore / outsourced dev teams
● Strong Agile/Scrum methodology knowledge
● Ability to write clear user stories and product requirements
● Comfortable with async workflows across time zones
● Tech-savvy — can engage meaningfully with engineers and step into the product if needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Experience with API-first, cloud-based, or SaaS platforms
● Background with early-stage or startup product development
● Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, Figma, Notion, or similar
● Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs with senior engineers
