Product Certifications and Marking Co-Op

About the Role

At Bose, we’re passionate about launching innovative, compliant, and certified products that enhance the lives of our customers worldwide. We’re looking for a highly motivated junior-level engineering co-op to join our Product Certification and Markings team and play a key role in organizing, documenting, and improving certification processes across global markets.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, project management, compliance, and global product certification. You’ll support the team by helping to organize, document, and improve processes that ensure Bose products meet certification requirements across different regions and markets.

You will gain exposure to cross-functional collaboration, regulatory systems, tools like Smartsheet, Confluence, and Jira, and play a meaningful role in aligning stakeholders and enabling process automation. You will also have the opportunity to perform hands-on testing and teardown of products in the lab.

Key Responsibilities

As a core team member, you’ll be supporting workstreams that are critical to improving the effectiveness and scalability of our product safety and certification processes such as :

  • Certification Process Documentation & Alignment

    • Assist in documenting and mapping country-specific certification processes.

    • Work directly with engineers, compliance leads, and regional experts to collect and organize example submission documents and collateral by region.

    • Maintain up-to-date lists of country-specific contacts and signatories.

    • Coordinate with cross-functional partners to align on a unified, documented certification process.

    • Document the approval and signatory process for each region and update the product certification website to allow process partners to access information easily.

  • Document Logistics & Partner Access

    • Update and document the process for certification documentation to be stored, retained, and accessed.

    • Help establish and manage access control structures based on user roles.

    • Build guidance and draft work instructions for how internal partners can find and use certification-related documents.

  • Tools and Process Improvement

    • Develop a process and dashboard to monitor certification expirations and renewals.

    • Analyze country-specific process flows to spot inefficiencies and opportunities for process automation across country certification flows.

    • Propose solutions to improve current tracking and collaboration processes.

  • Support Engineering analysis of field returns

    • Review, analyze and write reports for customer field returns for potential safety issues.

    • Assist the safety Technicians in organizing and maintaining various Product Safety documentation data bases.

    • Perform hands on safety testing under the supervision of a  member of the Product Safety Team and write reports.

    • Participate in safety procedure and database process improvement.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in team meetings, process reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Help prepare documentation or communications related to certification rollout or change management.

  • Engage with global stakeholders and gain exposure to international compliance requirements.

Who You Are

You are a junior-level undergraduate student pursuing a degree in engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field, with an interest in project management, systems thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills and interest in systems thinking

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines; works independently while collaborating across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to systems engineering concepts such as requirements based design, complexity reduction and systems integration to deliver optimized solutions.

  • Able to utilize AI tools to drive efficiencies in product documentation and analysis

  • Familiarity with JAMA or other requirements management tool.

  • Familiarity with process mapping and documentation tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, or similar).

  • Working knowledge or interest in tools like Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, or SharePoint.

  • Comfortable working with stakeholders across engineering, compliance, legal, and operations.

  • Able to balance structured work with initiative — you ask questions and propose ideas.

The hiring range for this position in Framingham, Massachusetts is: $22.00-$31.75 per hour.
