Hogan Lovells Cadwalader US LLP is seeking a highly qualified Mid-Level Life Sciences Litigation Associate to join its Intellectual Property practice. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in complex patent litigation matters involving life sciences, medical devices, and/or pharmaceutical technologies, including Hatch-Waxman litigation and strategic dispute counseling. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge matters for innovative clients across the biotechnology, medical device, and pharmaceutical industries.

Qualified applicants should hold an undergraduate degree in biology, chemistry, or a related scientific discipline relevant to the pharmaceutical industry. Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), or eligibility to obtain such registration, is preferred.

This is an outstanding opportunity to work on sophisticated life sciences patent disputes before federal courts and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), while collaborating with a highly regarded team representing leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, writing, and advocacy skills, including experience taking and defending depositions, working closely with technical and expert witnesses, and managing complex litigation matters. A commitment to excellence and exceptional client service is essential.

Applicants can be resident in Washington DC area, Boston, Houston, Northern California offices.

The expected base salary range for this role is $260,000 to $365,000 per year. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of pay at the time of posting; the actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as the candidate’s qualifications. This position is eligible for additional forms of compensation, which may include annual performance bonuses and discretionary bonuses.  Employees in this role are also eligible for benefits offered by the firm, subject to applicable plan terms and conditions, which currently include medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) retirement plan; and paid time off.
