Job Description

 

Oxfam America, Inc. seeks Director, Inclusive Value Chains in Boston, MA.

 

Lead and expand Oxfam America's Inclusive Value Chains (IVC) programming and support the Corporate Accountability and Worker Justice Department's investor-focused work. Duties include: Lead development, implementation, and oversight of the Inclusive Value Chains portfolio, including multi-country program activities; oversee IVC grants to ensure program quality, compliance with internal controls, and strong partnerships with country offices; review new IVC initiatives and fundraising proposals for alignment with strategic priorities; lead fundraising efforts to secure $500,000 annually for IVC programming; support learning and integration of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) findings into IVC work; manage engagement with corporate accounts in the food, beverage, and agribusiness sectors and develop corporate engagement strategies; oversee investor-related work, including impact investing, shareholder advocacy, and innovation projects; represent the organization in external speaking engagements; lead and support initiatives involving market systems pilots with food and agriculture companies; evaluate new private sector partnership opportunities and collaborate with fundraising teams to develop partnership proposals; participate in departmental planning, budgeting, reporting, and evaluation processes; and exercise independent judgment in the day-to-day management of the Inclusive Value Chains portfolio, including establishing implementation priorities, coordinating program activities, evaluating partnership opportunities, developing corporate engagement strategies, monitoring program performance, and making recommendations regarding portfolio initiatives and resource priorities within established organizational policies and procedures.

 

Directly supervise four employees: Senior Advisor, Advocacy and Engagement; Senior Advisor, Inclusive Value Chains and Country Engagement and Land Rights; Company Engagement Lead, Inclusive Value Chains; and Advisor, Private Sector Climate Resilience and Inclusive Value Chains. Employee may telecommute from any U.S. state where Oxfam is registered.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Economic Psychology, Psychology, International Development, or a closely related field and eight (8) years of progressive experience working in a nonprofit environment on private sector partnerships. Domestic and international travel required at least 20% of the time to various Oxfam locations.

 

Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently:

 

  1. Eight (8) years of experience developing and executing multi-stakeholder corporate engagement strategies involving multinational corporations, voluntary standards systems, and commodity transformation initiatives;
  2. Eight (8) years of experience influencing corporate policies and practices in the food sector;
  3. Eight (8) years of experience leading large-scale, multi-country sustainability or market transformation programs, including responsibility for multi-million dollar program components and international staff mobilization;
  4. Eight (8) years of experience leading corporate initiatives addressing multiple ESG dimensions, including climate change, sustainability, natural resource rights, and supply chain accountability;
  5. Eight (8) years of experience utilizing corporate campaigning tactics such as shareholder advocacy in the food sector;
  6. Eight (8) years of experience coordinating among diverse stakeholder groups, including multinational companies, NGOs, voluntary standards bodies, and international teams;
  7. Eight (8) years of experience managing $1M+ budgets; and
  8. Eight (8) years of experience directly supervising professional-level staff and managing resources for organization-wide strategic initiatives.
