The Mechanical Engineer will be based in Littleton, MA reporting to the Technical Product Manager and will be responsible for the development of hardware systems starting with the development of concepts and taking these concepts through their tollgates all the way to a potential hand-off for production.
What a typical day look like:
- Develop manufacturable mechanical designs to achieve system interface and structural requirements using SOLIDWORKS CAD
- Apply first principles in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer to analyze design concept thermal performance
- Apply analysis and simulation tools (e.g. thermal and structural FEA, CFD) for product development and refinement
- Implement in-house prototyping tools to generate, evaluate, and select concepts
- Assemble engineering drawings and engage with external vendors to procure parts and hardware
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering) and 0-3+ years work experience, or similar background, in thermal and / or fluids engineering
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple simultaneous projects
- Excellent first principles knowledge in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer
- Comfortable interfacing with fabrication partners and suppliers to deliver high quality parts on time
- Demonstrated ability with hands-on builds/projects
- Ability to work independently and on small teams
- Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS CAD and drawing packages
