Director of Marketing - Ninja (Kitchenware)
Marketing is one of the largest teams at SharkNinja. The team includes Digital, Brand, D2C, Media, PR and Creative. Each team focusing on how we give our consumers the ultimate product experience. Marketing is for the person that is not afraid to dive deep and show a genuine interest into the world of Consumer Goods. SharkNinja is seeking a highly capable Director of Marketing to lead the Kitchenware Marketing team for the Ninja brand. This role is critical to growth and will report directly to the Global General Manager.
The Director of Marketing will be a consumer champion, responsible for developing and implementing the product marketing strategy, packaging design, communication campaigns, and expansion opportunities. The individual will have a passion for bringing the voice of the consumer to the organization, will the mission to drive innovative, products to market and entering new categories. As the leader of the Kitchenware Marketing group, with self-directed capabilities, the Director will work with all functions within the organization with a high level of energy, organization and professionalism. The Director is a strategic thinker who strives to align category goals and objectives with company mission, moving forward vigorously with vision and consensus.
Responsibilities:
•Omni-channel drive: Develop plans, tactics and messages to drive purchase across sales channels, including Specialty Retail, Home Improvement, Club, DTC, e-commerce, infomercial, and mass retail. Ability to translate product benefits into compelling, purchase driving stories across platforms including packaging, in-store display, digital media, and TV.
•Growth mindset: The SharkNinja business is growing and we are rapidly evaluating new categories to fuel growth. Growth assessment will include category, competitive consumer landscape - with a focus on unmet needs to identify market opportunities and gaps.
•Commercialization leader: Lead, develop and manage a holistic product commercialization timeline and plan to ensure excellence of execution in market. This includes leading purchase driving story development and validation including naming, positioning, benefit/feature articulation & visualization. Bring it to life across in-store and online consumer touchpoints.
•Base business Management: Understand the current and past performance of each product in our portfolio, by retailer, and work with Category Management, Finance and the Sales teams to drive the implementation of actions to drive sales volume.
•Global: Help translate US product stories for global markets and partner closely with those teams to launch successfully outside of the US.
•Partner closely with the Sales team to arm them with compelling product pitch materials and create custom plans for their customer.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business, MBA desired
•10+ years in product marketing, brand management and leadership experience within a consumer products company
•Excellent communication, listening, and presentation skills
•Capacity to operate and lead in a high-growth, fast paced, deadline driven environment including relentless prioritization and decision making.
•Team development. This candidate will join a team of passionate players who care about building the business and developing future marketers.
•Ability to work cross functionally with product development, sales, legal, culinary, design, communications, media and other disciplines.
•Demonstrated management skills to lead and energetically motivate and coach direct reports but also be a leader for the business to members of those functions who contribute to the business unit. A person who cares about how work is accomplished in addition to the work itself.
•Strong understanding of the “big-box” retail marketplace
