Marketing Specialist – Life Sciences

Cooley is seeking a Marketing Specialist – Life Sciences to join the Marketing and Client Development team.

Position summary: This role is part of the Business Unit Marketing Team, which acts as the strategic consultant to, and primary bridge between, practice group leadership and the broader Marketing & Client Development organization. This team translates commercial objectives and competitive insight into marketing and client development plans. They work across Marketing & Client Development to activate these plans, offering the appropriate level of strategic and tactical support tailored to the needs of each business unit. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Position responsibilities:

  • Collateral Maintenance: Provide ongoing updates and maintenance for practice descriptions, brochures, and digital bios to ensure "Always Ready" availability.
  • CRM Data Hygiene: Maintain the integrity of practice-specific contact lists and relationship data within the CRM, ensuring accurate segmentation for campaign enablers.
  • Logistical Material Support: Coordinate the assembly and distribution of standard marketing kits and attendee materials for practice-led events and initiatives.
  • Standard Activity Reporting: Pull recurring reports from firm technologies to track practice group activities, pitch volume, and pipeline status for BU leadership.
  • Matter Experience Entry: Support the practice by inputting matter details and credentials into the firm’s experience database.
  • Sponsorship Tracking: Maintain the tracker for all BU-specific sponsorships, deadlines, and required deliverables to ensure all benefits are realized.
  • Digital Profile Coordination: Liaise with attorneys to facilitate regular updates to partner biographies and external legal directory profiles.
  • Administrative Project Support: Provide tactical support for large-scale BU projects, such as the data collection phase of the Chambers submission process.
  • All other duties as assigned or required

Skills and experience:

Required:

  • After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
  • Available to work overtime, as required
  • 3+ years applicable experience in the field (e.g., marketing or business development)
  • Prior professional services industry experience and/or B2B marketing experience
  • Must have demonstrated industry experience in life sciences

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Cooley offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package and is committed to fair and equitable employment practices. EOE.

The expected hourly pay range for this position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week is $33.00 - $48.00 ($68,640.00 - $99,840.00 annually). Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
