Lexington Medical, Inc. is a medical device company developing and manufacturing minimally invasive surgical stapling solutions in the Boston area. With the highest standards in design engineering and smart manufacturing, our team delivers disruptive technology to healthcare providers, improving surgical outcomes for patients in a thriving $6B+ surgical stapler market.

Rooted in a talent-dense culture, we are committed to innovation, foster continuous growth, and achieve great heights together. At Lexington Medical, Inc., you will have the opportunity to impact the lives of millions of patients worldwide while thriving in a fast-growing MedTech company.

Role Overview:

We are hiring a Marketing & Communications Specialist to execute the day-to-day marketing work at Lexington Medical, strengthening communication around our novel technology and building accurate, credible content for surgeons, hospitals, and our sales teams. This is a hands-on, content-first job for someone who loves to write, is enthusiastic about technical and clinical topics, and enjoys creating content across formats, from web pages to video to brochures.

You will work directly with engineers, sales, and company leadership to understand what matters and turn it into clear, accurate, and engaging content for our website, LinkedIn, product materials, and company communications. You may also handle photography, create short videos and other visual content, keep our website current, and help improve how Lexington Medical appears in traditional and AI-powered search.

You need to be creative, resourceful, and able to take a project from an idea through to completion. We expect you to use AI tools fluently, and not only to move faster. You should think creatively about marketing strategy, structure content for SEO and AI discoverability, and direct the tools well across writing and design, while keeping a sharp eye on accuracy in a regulated environment. For an early-career candidate who is curious, detail-oriented, and a strong writer, there is a lot of room to grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and edit content across channels: website pages, product and clinical education materials, LinkedIn posts, emails, company announcements, and marketing materials.
  • Work with engineers, clinicians, and other experts to translate technical information and clinical evidence into content people can understand, keeping a consistent Lexington Medical voice across channels.
  • Create and edit short videos, capture basic photography of products, people, and events, and produce or adapt branded graphics using tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or AI design tools, for digital and print use.
  • Own day-to-day website content in WordPress, publishing and updating pages, images, and basic layouts.
  • Write and structure content for SEO and AI discoverability, help ensure Lexington Medical is represented accurately in search, AI-powered results, and key third-party industry sources, and track content, search, and social performance to improve future work.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to support employer branding by producing recruiting and careers content, employee stories, and social posts that show what it's like to work at Lexington Medical.
  • Manage a content calendar and keep projects moving from idea through review to publication, supporting product launches, events, and recruiting as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, marketing, life sciences, or a related field.
  • 1-3+ years of relevant experience preferred. Exceptional recent graduates with strong internship experience and a portfolio are encouraged to apply.
  • An excellent writer and editor: you can take something complicated and make it clear without making it inaccurate, with strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
  • Creative thinking about marketing and messaging: you bring ideas for how to reach and engage an audience, not just execute assigned tasks.
  • Curiosity about engineering, medicine, and technical subject matter, and comfort working directly with experts and asking good questions when you don't understand something.
  • A good visual eye; experience shooting and editing video and/or photography is a strong plus.
  • Experience with, or the ability to quickly learn, WordPress, web analytics, SEO, and emerging AI search and discovery tools; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar creative software is a plus.
  • Fluent, creative use of AI tools across writing, design, and research, including strong prompting and direction and good judgment about when the output needs to be questioned or checked.
  • Strong organization and the ability to manage several very different projects at once.
  • A portfolio or work samples that demonstrate strong writing and creative ability.

Location & Work Arrangement:

This position is based at our Bedford, Massachusetts office and works onsite five days a week. Being onsite matters for this role: much of the content you create comes from the products, people, engineering, and manufacturing work happening in Bedford.

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
