Design and implement manufacturing fixtures, tooling, robotics, and automation equipment for surgical stapler production. Design, prototype, test, and validate precision mechanical and mechatronic subsystems for a surgical stapling platform. Create SolidWorks models, drawings, and assemblies; select materials and components; evaluate performance, reliability, tolerancing, and manufacturability; and collaborate with manufacturing engineers on DFM/DFA, process development, and design transfer. Document development under medical device design controls and support product improvements through production.

Develop, test, and debug embedded firmware for surgical stapling devices using C and C++ on ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers. Build drivers, communication interfaces, motor-control logic, and sensor integrations. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers during hardware bring-up and bench debugging. Support verification, validation, code reviews, and documentation compliant with FDA design controls and IEC 62304.

Design and develop embedded electrical systems for powered surgical stapling devices. Responsibilities include schematic capture, PCB design, component selection, mixed-signal and microcontroller-based circuit development, hardware bring-up, debugging, testing, system integration, verification, validation, and regulated design documentation. The role collaborates with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams and supports troubleshooting and design updates for fielded medical devices.

Supports engineering activities on an operational manufacturing line, including addressing yield and quality concerns, repairing custom production equipment, and assisting with training. Evaluates processes for bottlenecks, proposes and implements improvements, and supports equipment commissioning and line changes. Completes a manufacturing fixture design project involving requirements, design reviews, risk identification, construction, and implementation under established procedures.
