Description:

 We are seeking a talented individual to join our Investments and Retirement team, part of our People and Investments business at Marsh. This role will be based in Boston. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. 


The Market Data Analyst will be part of the  Market Data Services team that manages market data vendor services, ensuring investment professionals have seamless access to essential market data and research tools. The Market Data Analyst will play a critical role in overseeing budget, forecast, and invoice management processes to optimize costs and maximize value. This position requires strong financial analysis skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.


We will count on you to: 


  • Support the construction of the Market Data budget, continuously monitoring expenses and updating forecasts throughout the fiscal year to ensure alignment with financial goals.
  • Review and validate invoices against contractual terms and budget targets; update pricing and contract details in the Optimize Spend system as needed.
  • Lead the month-end close process by providing accurate accrual data to Finance and delivering comprehensive monthly and quarterly budget and forecast reports to senior management.
  • Maintain dashboard reporting for executive leadership team
  • Collaborate closely with business units to gather and define market data requirements; communicate these to vendors and negotiate terms that minimize financial impact while ensuring service quality.
  • Manage purchase order creation and tracking for the Market Data Services team.

What you need to have:  


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in budget, forecast, and invoice management, preferably within market data or financial services environments.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including use of complex formulas, data validation, conditional formatting, pivot tables, dashboards, VBA/macros, and Power Query.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and dashboard reporting
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and strong financial and mathematical acumen.
  • Knowledge of market data usage by investment professionals.
  • Experience with TRG Screen Optimize Spend or similar vendor management systems is highly desirable.

Marsh is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $75,500 to $151,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
